Anime Vanguards rolled out Update 9.5 on December 9, 2025, pushing the game into a Fall-themed cycle that mixes new units, a limited-time mode, portal tiers, and a dedicated event shop. It also refreshes core menus like Inventory, Collection, and Trade, while slipping in practical changes that affect summoning, keybindings, ranked PvP, and Infinite Mode behavior.
New units in Update 9.5
The headline additions land across three lanes: a seasonal banner, an event reward, and Worldlines. The Fall Banner is anchored by Vanguard Lich King, alongside Exclusive Black Hole, Exclusive Ghost Girl, Exclusive Jailer, and Exclusive Ghoul. Summons on that banner use the Fall Event currency, Leaves.
Outside the banner, Secret Unstable is tied to the Unstable Mind Event. Worldlines also gets a new reward unit with Secret Horsegirls.
Unit remodels (Secret, Exclusive, and Mythic)
Update 9.5 also revisits older units with remodels spread across multiple rarities. Secret-rarity Sukono and Gujo are updated, along with Exclusive Mohato, Tuji, and Mechamar. The Mythic tier gets remodels for Itaduri, Chaso, Todu, and Jag-o.
Fall Event: Fallen Kingdom LTM, Leaves, and Dark Essence
The Fall Event is built around a conqueror-style limited-time mode where you pick a kingdom and push through waves with event-specific mechanics. Leaves are the central currency for the season, and the event also introduces Dark Essence as an evolution-related item. The mode includes scenario-based voice acting and a Secret encounter system.
Kingdom choice is a functional decision rather than cosmetic. You choose between Restize, Baroot, and Stave Theocracy, each offering a different bonus profile: extra currency gain, higher mob spawn frequency, or improved chances for Secret encounters.
Two decision points arrive mid-run. On Waves 5 and 10, you pick between Choice Cards that trade off economy and combat performance. Options include Taxation and Mobilize or Speech, with outcomes that can boost Cash or increase Damage and SPA.
An Infinite mode variant runs alongside the wave-based structure and is described as having limitless variations for repeat runs. Going deeper increases Leaves earnings, but Infinite mode does not award Dark Essence.
Fall Portals: 10 tiers, modifiers, and a dedicated map
Update 9.5 adds 10 tiers of Fall Portals with rewards that include Leaves and Dark Essence. Each portal can be altered with six gameplay modifiers, which makes the portal ladder feel less like a straight difficulty ramp and more like a configurable challenge track.
The primary map for these portals is Lich King’s Throne.
Fall Shop: evolution items, rerolls, and a mount
The Fall Shop turns Leaves into progression materials and cosmetics. Evolution items in the shop include Stress Doll, Shuriken, Umbrella, Small Doll, and Bunny Mask. It also stocks high-demand resources and seasonal materials, including Trait Rerolls (up to a cap of 200), Sunshine, Shamrock, Snowflake, Iced Chest, and Evo Remembrance.
A Flaming Horse Mount is also part of the shop lineup.
Unit skins added in Update 9.5
Skins in 9.5 skew into seasonal costume territory, with one Secret skin and multiple rarities underneath it. Lich King receives the Secret skin “Pimp.” Black Hole gets the Mythic skin “Skeleton,” Sukono gets “Demon,” and Sprintwagon gets “Zombie.” Unstable receives the Legendary skin “Pumpkin,” Ghost Girl gets the Epic skin “Ghost,” and Gujo gets the Rare skin “Vampire.”
Worldlines Season 8: reset, new reward, harder scaling
Worldlines Season 8 resets progress, which also changes what can be earned going forward. Wolf (Resurrection) is no longer obtainable as a result of the reset. The new Floor 50 reward is Horsegirls.
Difficulty scaling past Floor 50 is significantly increased. One clear marker of the new curve is that Traitless Floor 51 is now set to match the difficulty of Traitless Floor 200.
Leaderboard rewards also shift upward. Top 12 placements now include 150 Trait Rerolls, 100 Trophies, plus both a Shiny Variant and a regular variant of the previous Worldlines unit. Ranks 13–32 receive 100 Trait Rerolls, 50 Trophies, and the regular variant of the previous Worldlines unit. Ranks 33–100 receive 50 Trait Rerolls and 20 Trophies.
Event rotation and menu overhauls
Update 9.5 cycles out the Summer Event, removing its related activities and collectibles. At the same time, it lists a wide slate of new and returning events: Fallen Kingdom, Fallen Kingdom Trials, Unstable Mind, Evolution Madness, Odyssey Outrage, Familial Foley, Falling Leaves, Raiding Rifts, Something’s Shiny, The Hellkiller, The Calamity Arrives, and Fated Feel.
Interface changes land across multiple systems. Inventory gets a rework that covers Unit, Familiar, Item, Skin Inventory, and other UI elements. Collection UI is rebuilt to show more detail, including a Filter button and an Obtainability filter. Trading receives UI additions that include Trade Chat and Trade History.
System changes and quality-of-life updates
Several adjustments target friction points that add up during long sessions. The stage selector can now be opened after finishing a stage. Summoning adds a new 50x Summon feature across all Summon Banners, alongside revamped banner visuals.
Trading becomes more restrictive in a useful way. The Trade UI now only shows tradable units when adding a character, and equipping a skin filters the unit list to those that can use that skin. Settings also expand keybinding customization, letting more actions be assigned through the keybindings list.
Other changes include Fortune Catalysts gaining a slider that allows multiple activations at once, and Familiars rounding hidden decimal places. Bundles now include regional pricing (with gifts excluded). Update 9.0 units are now available in the Sandbox.
Competitive rules and Infinite Mode behavior
Ranked PvP has new bans: Medea, Riner, Felt, Goblin Killer, and Horsegirls are not allowed. Infinite Mode also gets a forced behavior change. Auto Skip Waves is enabled by default in Infinite Mode regardless of player settings.
Fall Bundles and pricing
Update 9.5 introduces three Fall Bundles priced at 999, 4,999, and 10,000 Robux.
As a package, Update 9.5 is a seasonal pivot and a systems cleanup at once. The Fall Event establishes a new currency loop with Leaves, gives players multiple paths to optimize runs through kingdom bonuses and Choice Cards, and ties progression into portals and a shop stocked with high-demand materials. Meanwhile, the Worldlines reset and scaling changes redraw the long-term climb, and the UI work is aimed squarely at making the game’s growing inventory of units, skins, and trade activity easier to manage.
