Dormant Barons is a straightforward two-part task: locate a Baron Husk, breach it, and loot an ARC Powercell. The husk is an inert, spider-like ARC shell embedded in the terrain. The breach triggers a trap, so the safe clear is all about timing and positioning. Once the ARC Powercell is in your inventory, head back to Speranza to finish the job.

Where to find a Baron Husk (Dam Battlegrounds)
Baron Husks are fixed map elements. On Dam Battlegrounds, you can reach a reliable spawn with a short, direct route:
- Drop into the map and move toward Water Treatment Control.
- From there, continue west toward South Swamp Outpost.
- Before the thick swamp brush, look for a large, spider-like ARC shell visible from a distance — that’s the Baron Husk.
Note: A “Husk Graveyard” map modifier can add extra husks, but you don’t need it. The route above leads to a consistent spawn.
How to breach and loot a Baron Husk safely
The breach is the only dangerous step — it always ends in a fiery detonation at the center of the husk. Here’s the clean pattern:
- Approach a leg and vault up onto the husk.
- Move to the circular center and start the Breach interaction when it appears on your HUD.
- Scan your surroundings while breaching; hostile ARCs or Raiders often hear the commotion.
- As soon as the breach completes, the center explodes. Immediately hop down off the husk and take cover.
- Wait for the flames to burn out. Rushing the center will get you burned or boxed in.
- Climb back up and loot the center compartment once it’s clear.
Tip: Commit to the descent the moment the progress bar finishes — don’t linger on top for the blast. The time saved is often the difference between a clean loot and a forced heal under pressure.
Get the ARC Powercell and extract to Speranza
The ARC Powercell is part of the post-breach loot. As soon as it’s in your inventory, Dormant Barons’ board objectives complete. Shani will direct you to return safely to Speranza; extract without dying to lock in progress and rewards.
Keep an eye out: the blast and your movement on the husk can pull nearby enemies. If the area heats up, prioritize survival over immediate looting — the fire will still be there in a minute, and the cell won’t despawn.
Rewards and what they’re good for
Completing Dormant Barons grants:
- 3× Door Blockers — useful for locking down entry points and stalling enemy pushes.
- 3× Li’l Smoke Grenades — handy for breaking sightlines and creating safer rotations.
The rewards arrive in your inventory when the quest wraps after your return to Speranza.
The loop here is tight: beeline to the husk, breach cleanly, wait out the flames, pocket the Powercell, and extract. The only real failure points are getting greedy on the post-breach fire or overstaying when other Raiders rotate to the noise.
