Quests in Arc Raiders are a fixed, countable set of missions rather than an endless pool of procedurally generated tasks. That makes it possible to say very clearly how many quests exist at the moment and what falls into that total.
Quick answer: Arc Raiders currently has 72 distinct quests. Of these, 66 form the core progression questlines and 6 are additional quests introduced with the Cold Snap update. Separate quest groupings tied to the North Line and Headwinds updates are included inside that 72-count as well.
Arc Raiders total quest count
The complete tally of quests presently available in Arc Raiders is:
- 72 quests in total
- 66 “main” quests that carry you through the core narrative and trader questlines
- 6 extra quests tied specifically to the Cold Snap content update
These 72 quests cover everything you can accept from traders in Speranza across all current maps, including the original regions, The Blue Gate, and Stella Montis. There is no separate hidden pool of repeatable story quests beyond this list; once they are all turned in, traders stop offering new missions until future content is added.
How the 72 quests break down
The 72 quests are spread across several categories that matter when you try to reconcile different lists you may have seen:
- Core launch-era questlines (66 quests) – These are the missions most players think of as “the campaign”: starting with tasks like Picking Up The Pieces and running through late-game quests such as Armored Transports, With a Trace, and the Stella Montis chain (In My Image, Cold Storage, Snap and Salvage).
- North Line update quests – In My Image, Cold Storage, and Snap and Salvage are part of the 66-core count rather than a separate bucket in addition to it.
- Cold Snap update quests (6 quests) – These are additive on top of the 66-core count and bring the total to 72:
- The Clean Dream
- A Toxic Trail
- The Stench of Corruption
- Paving the Way
- Deciphering the Data
- Groundbreaking
- Headwinds update quests – Missions such as Combat Recon, A Prime Specimen, On Deaf Ears, The League, With A View, On the Map, Bombing Run, and Movie Night are treated as part of the same overall quest pool when counted up to 72.
Different lists sometimes stop at earlier milestones (for example, 63 quests ending on Armored Transports) or only include the initial North Line additions. The figure of 72 reflects all current missions after Cold Snap and Headwinds are factored in.
What “counts” as a quest for that number
The 72-quest figure counts every unique mission that:
- Is accepted from a trader in Speranza (Shani, Tian Wen, Celeste, Lance, Apollo, and later quest-givers tied to new maps or updates).
- Appears in your quest journal with a title and a multi-step objective block.
- Can be turned in once for a one-time reward such as Raider Coins, cosmetics, blueprints, weapons, or keys.
It does not count:
- Weekly “Trials” or other rotating objectives.
- Implicit tasks like workbench upgrades or chicken/den progression.
- One-off tutorial prompts that are not recorded as named quests in the journal.
If you are trying to check whether you have “done everything,” the practical verification is simple: once all 72 of these named quests are turned in, you will have no active or available quests in the trader menus, and any new trader dialog will stop handing out fresh missions until another update lands.
Why earlier players reported smaller numbers
Players who reached the end of the questlines shortly after launch often reported totals in the low 60s. That experience was accurate at the time. The structure has evolved in three clear phases:
- Launch window – The game shipped with a main quest pool that, for many people, ended around Armored Transports at 63 quests. After finishing that mission, traders had nothing more to offer.
- North Line and Stella Montis – Additional quests for The Blue Gate and Stella Montis pushed the total higher, but many checklists still grouped these into a “63+” style count.
- Cold Snap and Headwinds – The Cold Snap set of six missions, together with Headwinds-era quests, pushed the hard total up to 72 and smoothed out progression on the later maps.
If you are coming back after playing early on and stopped at 63 completed quests, the missing missions for you are almost certainly the Cold Snap chain and some of the later map-specific quests introduced afterwards.
For now, 72 is the ceiling: once every trader questline, regional chain, and update mission is complete, quest progression is functionally finished and the game’s long-term loop shifts over to loot, expeditions, and self-imposed goals until new quests are added in a future update.
