“Straight Record” sends you into Dam Battlegrounds to power down an improvised ARC EMP trap at Victory Ridge. The task sounds simple but the directions are vague, and Victory Ridge spans a wide area. Here’s the fastest, no‑guesswork route, including the exact switch order and what carries over if you go down.

Find Victory Ridge and the old EMP trap (exact spot)
Victory Ridge is the entire northern rim of Dam Battlegrounds, covering sub‑locations like West Broken Bridge and Ruby Residence. The label often appears only when you zoom the map out fully, so it’s easy to trigger “Reach Victory Ridge” far from where you actually need to be.
Head toward the Hydroponic Dome Complex in the northern swamp. The EMP trap sits a short walk north of the Dome Complex and just south of the road that runs along the ridge. Look for a pole wrapped in wiring with a round assembly on top, placed on a dirt slope. Interact with the base to start the power‑cut sequence.
Disable power switches in the correct order
The three switches are close by and must be turned off in sequence. Each box uses a distinctive yellow interaction prompt, which helps in low visibility.
- Power switch 1 (north, hilltop): From the EMP, look directly uphill to the north. The first switch is on a small rise overlooking the device. Climb up and interact with the yellow box.
- Power switch 2 (east, rubble climb): From the EMP, look east toward the ruined structure. Climb the nearby box/generator, mantle onto the broken wall, jump the small gap, move through the opening, and cut power at the yellow box on the upper ledge.
- Power switch 3 (south, near tree/cable): Drop back down the slope to the south, toward the Hydroponic Dome Complex. Follow the visible cable along the ground; the final switch sits beside a tree near where the line surfaces.
Tip: If the next switch won’t activate, you’re out of order—return to the last successful switch and reorient from the EMP as your anchor.
Shut down the EMP trap and finish
With all three switches off, return to the pole device and interact again to power it down. The quest logs as complete without needing to extract. If you’re eliminated after finishing the interaction, completion still counts when you return to Speranza.
Co‑op and progression behavior
- Squad credit: Switch flips and the final shutdown count for every teammate on the quest.
- No consumables: You interact with world objects only; there are no items to retain or turn in.
- Runs carry over: Objective progress can be completed across multiple excursions if needed.
- Visibility: Victory Ridge often has harvester haze that reduces sightlines—use the compass and the yellow glow on interaction points to navigate.
