Black Ops 7 beta access — every way to get a code (or skip it)
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7Who needs a code, how to redeem it, key dates, and what to do if your email never arrives.

Black Ops 7’s beta is split into an Early Access window followed by an open period for everyone. Depending on how you bought (or didn’t buy) the game, you may not need a code at all. Here’s the cleanest path to getting in, step by step.
Who needs a Black Ops 7 beta code (and who doesn’t)
- No code needed: digital pre-orders on Xbox, PlayStation, Battle.net, or Steam automatically qualify for Early Access on that platform.
- No code needed: players on select Game Pass plans are validated for Early Access on Xbox or PC. (Microsoft lists eligibility for certain Game Pass tiers; check your plan details.)
- Code required: physical retail pre-orders provide a 13‑character Early Access code on your receipt or in your retailer email.
Tip: If your retail receipt doesn’t show a code, contact the store you purchased from to issue or reissue it.

Note: In some countries, a small platform fee applies to access the beta (for example, ¥1 on Xbox in Japan and a nominal charge on PlayStation in Germany). Online multiplayer subscriptions may be required on certain platforms.
All official ways to get a code
- Physical retail pre-order: grab the 13‑character Early Access code from your printed or emailed receipt and redeem it (details below).
- Event/partner drops: during limited campaigns (like CoD Next), eligible viewers received Early Access codes. If you have a partner code from a campaign, you can redeem it directly on the BO7 partner redemption page.
Redeem a partner or event code
Don’t want to deal with codes? The Open Beta begins October 5, and anyone can download and play then.
Redeem your Early Access code (retail pre-orders)
- Register your 13‑character Early Access code on the official redemption page. Make sure the region you select matches your platform account’s region; otherwise your platform token may not work.
- Before Early Access begins, an Early Access token for your chosen platform will be issued to the email on your Activision account. The token will also appear on the redemption page when distribution starts.
Important: You’ll receive one platform token for the platform you selected when registering. Pick carefully if you play on multiple systems.
Activate the Early Access token on your platform
Once you have your platform token, use the store redemption flow for your system:
- Xbox Series X|S / Xbox One: Home → Store → press the controller’s View button → Redeem → enter token.
- PlayStation 5: Settings → Users and Accounts → Account → Payment and Subscriptions → Redeem Codes → enter token.
- PlayStation 4: PlayStation Store → scroll to the bottom → Redeem Codes → enter token.
- Xbox on PC: Microsoft Store app → account menu → Redeem code or gift card → enter token.
- Battle.net (PC): Account Overview → Redeem a Code → enter token.
- Steam (PC): bottom-left Add a Game → Activate a Product on Steam → follow prompts.
Twitch or partner campaign codes (what to expect)
During the CoD Next campaign, watching eligible streams for at least an hour granted Early Access codes. Many viewers received them later than expected through Twitch notifications, not the drops inventory. If you obtained such a code, redeem it through the BO7 partner page, then follow the same platform token and install steps above.
Note: For partner drops tied to account linking, ensure your Activision profile email is correct and your external accounts are linked.

Didn’t get the email? Try this
- Check the redemption page again shortly before Early Access begins; platform tokens appear there after emails go out.
- Verify your Activision account email for typos and check spam, promotions, and auto-sorted mail folders.
- If you used a partner/event code, re-open the partner redemption page and confirm your submission completed.
- If your retailer code isn’t working or you never received one, contact the retailer to reissue the original 13‑character code.
Recheck your code/token status on the redemption page
What’s in the beta and what carries over
Early Access opens with a rotation of 6v6 maps and core modes, with additional modes joining the playlist on set days. The Open Beta adds more maps. A Zombies Survival slice is also available for a limited time during the beta. You can level through 30 beta tiers for cosmetics and a weapon blueprint; items earned in the beta carry over to your account at launch.
If none of the above paths work out, the Open Beta on October 5 doesn’t require a code. Download the client on your platform and you’re in.
