The beta runs in two phases. Early Access is October 2–4, starting at 10AM PT, for players who pre-ordered or are subscribed to select Xbox Game Pass plans on console or PC. The Open Beta is October 5–8, starting at 10AM PT, and is available to everyone.

You’ll be able to download the beta on PlayStation, Xbox, Battle.net, or Steam. On PC, TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are required; if you need a primer on enabling them, use our post on preparing your PC for Black Ops 7 with TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot.

How progression and carryover work in the beta

Player progression is shared across Multiplayer and Zombies Survival during the beta. Early Access offers progression up to Level 20; the Open Beta raises the cap to Level 30. All cosmetic rewards listed below are unlocked by hitting their level milestone during the beta and will be added to your Black Ops 7 inventory at launch.

Once you reach Level 4, Custom Loadouts unlock so you can tune your weapons and gear. Daily Challenges in the lobby award bonus XP and are an efficient way to push through the track quickly.

All Black Ops 7 beta rewards and required levels

Level Reward Type
2 Beta Player Animated Emblem
6 Gun Flex Emote
11 Beta Neon Sticker
15 Beta Beasts Weapon Charm
20 Beta Maverick (JSOC) Operator Skin
20 Beta Leader (Guild) Operator Skin
23 Beta Survivor Loading Screen
27 Beta Conqueror Calling Card
30 Beta Legend — M15 Mod 0 Weapon Blueprint

Note: Rewards unlock immediately for use during the beta once you hit the required level and will carry forward to your Black Ops 7 account at launch.

How to unlock the rewards

Play either mode. XP from Multiplayer and Zombies Survival both count toward your single Player Level.

Knock out Daily Challenges. You’ll find them in the lobby; they provide reliable XP spikes to speed up leveling.

Use the Training Course. It’s a fast way to learn Omnimovement, get comfortable with weapons, and start earning early XP.

Optional: claim an Early Access beta code via Twitch drops

If you watched the CoD Next broadcast with drops enabled for at least an hour, you’re eligible for an Early Access beta code. To make sure you receive it and to claim any associated drops:

Tip: If you didn’t participate in the drops campaign, you can still play during the Open Beta window without a code.

What carries into launch

The nine cosmetics listed above are the only beta rewards that transfer, and they’ll be available in your Black Ops 7 inventory when the full game goes live. Gameplay progression from the beta (weapons, levels beyond the rewards track, or stats) does not carry over.

If you plan to earn everything, budget time to reach Level 30 during the Open Beta window. The Operator skins hit at Level 20, while the M15 Mod 0 blueprint is the final milestone at Level 30.

Spend the first session pushing to Level 20 for the skins, then use Daily Challenges and matches across both modes to clear the rest. If you’re on PC, confirm your TPM and Secure Boot settings before the start to avoid delays. Once the beta ends, your cosmetics will be waiting for you at launch.
