Call of Duty: Warzone adds Haven’s Hollow — Verdansk remains
NewsThe new Appalachia-set Resurgence map arrives in Season 1 with movement and loot updates; Verdansk gets two fresh POIs.

Activision is adding Haven’s Hollow, a new Resurgence map set in Appalachia, to Call of Duty: Warzone—and Verdansk stays as the primary battle royale map.
Revealed at Call of Duty: Next, Haven’s Hollow is part of the Season 1 integration with Black Ops 7. Season 1 follows the November 14 launch of Black Ops 7, with a multiplayer beta beginning October 2.
Release window and availability
Haven’s Hollow debuts with Warzone Season 1 as Black Ops 7 content rolls into the game. A beta for Black Ops 7 starts October 2, and the full game arrives November 14; Season 1 follows that launch window.
New features in Haven’s Hollow
Haven’s Hollow is a compact Resurgence battleground set around Liberty Falls in the Appalachian region. The layout emphasizes tight combat across smaller, three- to four-story structures and multiple points of interest.
In terms of scale, the map slots between two of Warzone’s other Resurgence arenas—smaller than Fortune’s Keep and larger than Rebirth Island. Visuals lean brighter and more colorful than the zombies-inflected look associated with Liberty Falls elsewhere in the franchise. The map was designed and developed by High Moon Studios.
Verdansk map updates
Verdansk remains the main Warzone map going forward, with updates landing in Season 1. Two new points of interest are being added: the returning Factory and a new Signal Station.
Verdansk update | What’s changing |
---|---|
Signal Station | New POI featuring a “massive control room” and the Tactical Heat Map feature |
Factory | Remastered take on the industrial POI; detailed changes not yet disclosed |
Warzone gameplay changes in Season 1
Season 1 also brings a broad balance and movement pass aimed at simplifying builds and sharpening pacing. Highlights include a trimmed attachment system, perk-driven mobility, and expanded ground loot.
Category | Change |
---|---|
Weapons and builds | Five-attachment limit; Wildcards removed; Overkill enabled by default |
Movement | Tactical Sprint removed from baseline and moved into the Sprinter perk; baseline sprint speed increased |
New actions | Combat Roll added via the Mountaineer perk |
Loot | More ground loot, including curated weapon builds |
Quality of life | Weapon build sharing |
Perks and equipment | Perk and equipment refreshes; introduction of Phantom Signal, a Warzone-exclusive Tactical |
Progression | New Mastery camos and a full camo track |
With a fresh compact map and an updated Verdansk in rotation, Season 1 aims to reset the meta and tighten Warzone’s pace just as Black Ops 7 content arrives.
