Duet Night Abyss — How to add friends and unlock co‑op
Duet Night AbyssUnlock the Friends menu, share your UID, and squad up for commission co‑op; crossplay works if you’re on the same server.
Co‑op is available in Duet Night Abyss, but it’s scoped: you team up for combat in commission missions, while most story content remains solo. Before you can add friends and form a party, you need to unlock the Friends feature in the main storyline.
Co‑op scope and limits
- Active co‑op gameplay is currently limited to combat in commissions (dungeon‑style missions).
- You may see other players in certain shared areas, but progression and most modes outside commissions are solo.
- Crossplay is supported across platforms; being on the same server is still required for friending and teaming.
Unlock requirements (Friends menu and co‑op)
You’ll gain access to the Friends feature and co‑op after completing a specific main quest. There are prerequisite milestones to reach first.
| Unlock step | What to complete |
|---|---|
| Prerequisite rank | Reach Trial Rank 19 |
| Prerequisite quests | Finish In the Depths of Winter and Dedicated Chef |
| Unlock quest | Complete Black Iron and White Flower (main quest) |
| What unlocks | Friends (friending and teams), co‑op for commissions, plus additional features (see below) |
Tip: If you don’t see the Friends menu, you haven’t finished Black Iron and White Flower yet.
Find and share your UID
Friend requests use a unique player ID (UID). Share this with your friend so they can search for you, or ask for theirs to add them.
- Open the main Menu (top‑left of the screen).
- Locate your UID displayed under your Phoxhunter’s name.
- Use the on‑screen copy option or note it down exactly.
Note: Friending works only within the same server. If you can’t find each other, confirm you both selected the same server/region at login.
Add friends by UID
- Confirm you and your friend are on the same server.
- Go to Menu > Friends.
- Enter your friend’s UID in the search/add field and send the request.
Your friend will need to accept the request (see below) before you appear on each other’s friend lists.
Accept friend requests
- Open Menu > Friends > Friend Requests.
- Select the pending request and press Accept.
Once accepted, both of you will appear in each other’s Friends list and can team up for co‑op commissions.
Team up for co‑op commissions
After you’re friends in‑game, you can form a team to run commissions together. From your commissions interface, start an eligible mission and invite your friend from your Friends list. Co‑op is optional—every commission can still be completed solo if you prefer.
Reminder: Co‑op applies to commission combat. Story quests and various other modes remain solo.
What unlocks alongside Friends
Completing Black Iron and White Flower enables co‑op and also activates several systems you’ll see referenced in mid‑to‑late game progression.
| Feature | Brief description |
|---|---|
| Mystic Maze | Combat arena activity that awards items such as Secret Letter Clues and other progression currencies. |
| Friends | Add players by UID, accept requests, and form teams for co‑op commissions. |
| Ripples of Talk | Companion interaction system with rewards, including Secret Letter Clues. |
Troubleshooting: friend search or co‑op not working
- Friends menu missing: Finish the Black Iron and White Flower quest; the menu appears afterward.
- No search results by UID: Verify both players are on the same server; recheck the UID digits and remove spaces.
- Can’t join activity: Ensure you’re queuing a commission; other content types may be solo‑only.
- Different platforms: Crossplay is supported, but server must still match for friending and teaming.
Once you’ve unlocked Friends and exchanged UIDs, grouping is straightforward. Focus your co‑op time on commissions for reliable combat and resource runs. Additional multiplayer modes are planned post‑launch, so expect the team options to expand over time.
