Duet Night Abyss: Sell fish for Angler’s Tokens and buy bait
Duet Night AbyssUnlock fishing, trade your catch for Angler’s Tokens, and restock lures to keep reeling in rare fish.
Fishing becomes available after completing the “In the Depths of Winter” main story quest. Speak with Marcus in the Eastern Icelake area to start the “Dedicated Chef” side quest. Using the Windwake Pier fast travel in the Icelake Environs places you near his marker on Zephyr Path. The quest grants a Training Rod and basic lures and teaches the core mini-game.
How the fishing mini-game works
- Go to a marked Fishing Spot and start the interaction (on PC/console: prompt appears, such as F/Triangle).
- Select a rod and bait, then choose Start Fishing. Cast your line (X/Space).
- When you hook a fish, a vertical meter appears. Hold to raise your icon and release to lower it; keep your icon on the moving fish.
- Filling the white bar to the top secures the catch; if it empties, the fish escapes.
- Each attempt consumes 1 bait, whether you catch the fish or not.
Note: Characters with the Piscator trait make fishing easier, similar to the benefit of better rods and lures.

Sell fish for Angler’s Tokens (inventory method)
You don’t need a vendor to cash in your haul. Sell fish directly from your inventory and convert them into Angler’s Tokens.
- Open Inventory.
- Go to the Fishing Supplies tab.
- Select one or more fish.
- Press the Sell button near the bottom-right of the screen to confirm.
The token value depends on species, rarity, size, and variants. Tokens are the currency for higher-tier rods, lures, and limited goods at Fisheries.
Buy more bait and rods (Fisheries and on-spot shop)
You can restock bait and upgrade equipment in two ways:
- Interact at a Fishing Spot and open the shop from the fishing menu (e.g., Down on the D-pad or the shopping cart icon).
- Visit the Icelake Fisheries NPC in town (fast travel is available) and open the Fisheries shop.
Basic Lure can be purchased with coins, and several lure bundles and rods cost Angler’s Tokens. Some items have quantity caps that refresh on shop reset, and certain gear requires a minimum Trial Level.

Where to fish now
The first spot unlocks in Icelake as part of the “Dedicated Chef” quest flow. Additional Fishing Spots exist in the Sewers and on Purgatorio; for Purgatorio, fast travel to Filthoid‑Ravaged Village and use the nearby pier. Expect tougher fish (more erratic movement) at higher‑tier locations, which makes upgraded rods and better lures more valuable.
Catch smarter (mini‑game tips)
- Keep your icon overlapping the fish as continuously as possible; short, controlled presses are more reliable than long holds.
- If the bar drains to zero, the fish escapes and you still consume bait. Cut losses quickly on a bad pull and recast.
- Struggling with movement? Switch to a character with the Piscator trait or upgrade your rod to enlarge the control window.
Once you build a small stash of Angler’s Tokens, prioritize better rods to stabilize catches, then stock lure bundles to chase rarer fish when you’re at new spots.
