Duet Night Abyss tier list (Nov 2025) — best DPS and supports

Duet Night Abyss divides strength between the character you actively pilot and the combat partner who supports from the sidelines. The picks below focus on clear, repeatable advantages: damage windows you can reliably set up, survivability in harder encounters, and support kits that consistently boost team performance. Characters are unordered within each tier.

Duet Night Abyss tier list (Active/DPS)

Tier Characters Core strengths
SS Phantasio, Lady Nifle, Psyche, Lynn Highest sustained or burst DPS with reliable crowd control or self-buffs; carry most content when piloted well.
S Berenica High damage with strong mobility and safe windows; clears most content with ease.
C Daphne Designed for healing and team utility, not front-line damage; better placed as a support.

Note: Characters within each tier are not ranked against one another.

Duet Night Abyss tier list (Support / Combat Partner)

Tier Characters What they bring
SS Daphne Teamwide healing with reliable uptimes, attack buffs, enemy debuffs, and bonus CRIT chance as a partner effect.
S Hellfire, Randy, Lady Nifle, Psyche Taunt/tank control (Hellfire), damage buffs and sustain with scaling payoffs (Randy), flexible sub-DPS with debuffs (Lady Nifle), and ATK synergy for Anemo teams (Psyche).
C None No support units fall this low; most partners provide at least situational value.

Note: Characters within each tier are not ranked against one another.

Why these characters rank where they do

  • Phantasio (SS Active) — Shreds elites and bosses during Bestial Fury thanks to rapid, hard-hitting strings and strong AoE. He is fragile in that window, so pairing him with a healer dramatically smooths runs. Performs at a high level even without deep investment.
  • Lady Nifle (SS Active, S Support) — Big skill multipliers, frequent debuffs, and crowd control add up to top-tier DPS and team value. As a Lumino unit that can tap into both Umbro and elemental effects, she fits many lineups. Her ceiling depends on unlocking her deeper passive; at low investment she can run into Sanity pressure.
  • Psyche (SS Active, S Support) — High mobility and an Ultimate that lets her fly make it easy to dodge while outputting damage. She scales with self-buffs and her Consonance Weapon. At baseline she can feel incomplete, but in current modes she still delivers and also grants ATK synergy to Anemo allies from the partner slot.
  • Lynn (SS Active) — Funnel resources into her Ultimate for excellent sustained DPS with stacking attack speed. The tradeoff is immobility during her main window, so positioning and timing are critical. Like Psyche, deeper investment dramatically raises output.
  • Berenica (S Active) — Consistent damage with an evasive kit that doubles as offense and defense. Easy to slot into most content for safe clears.
  • Daphne (SS Support, C Active) — A pure healer built for the partner slot. Wide-area healing, attack boosts for allies, and damage-over-time plus attack down on enemies make her the default pick for bossing and harder stages. As an active DPS, her kit simply lacks the damage tools to compete.
  • Hellfire (S Support) — Team tank with periodic Pyro damage and a taunting Ultimate that focuses enemy aggro and increases damage taken. Solid at low investment and becomes a reliable anchor at higher upgrades, especially in wave-heavy content.
  • Randy (S Support) — Rotational damage buffs, spot healing, and the chance to spawn ammo chests create steady team throughput. Elemental roster synergy and partner passives add more ATK for Pyro comps. Damage ramps noticeably with deeper upgrades.

Investment notes (I0 vs I6)

  • I0 (baseline) — Phantasio and Daphne are standouts without deep unlocks: the former for raw DPS, the latter for reliable healing and buffs.
  • I6 (deep unlocks) — Lady Nifle’s top-tier status assumes access to her later passive, which stabilizes Sanity and ramps output. Lynn and Psyche both scale strongly with added passives and stats. Randy and Hellfire gain the most from investment on the support side, with sturdier taunts and bigger team buffs.

Tip: If you’re struggling to survive during big DPS windows (Phantasio, Lynn), prioritize a partner who brings healing or damage reduction. If runs are safe but slow, shift to debuffers and ATK/CRIT buffers.

How this ranking is judged

  • SS Tier — Characters with the highest impact on runs: exceptional damage, utility, survivability tools, or a combination that carries content solo or in a team.
  • S Tier — Clear the majority of content comfortably and are staple picks for their roles and elements.
  • A Tier — Can reach competitive performance, but typically need better gear, team comps, or higher unlocks to do so consistently.
  • C Tier (Active only here) — Kits that are fundamentally tuned for support; workable in a pinch, but they underdeliver as your on-field DPS.

Tiers will shift as new units and modes arrive. Fina joins later in November, and broader updates can change how valuable tanking, healing, or pure DPS feels in the hardest content. If you’re starting out, build around an SS- or S-tier on-field carry and slot Daphne, Hellfire, or Randy as partners to stabilize your clears while you climb.
