How new characters roll out (and why you can’t buy them day one)
New characters don’t hit the Secret Letter shop immediately. For the first 28 days, their Secret Letters are featured rewards in Immersive Theater. After that period, the same Secret Letters move into Nocturnal Echoes weekly boss rewards. Only after this two‑step window do their Secret Letters appear in the shop for Secret Letter Clues exchange.

This cadence matters if you want a character at launch: clear Immersive Theater during that 28‑day feature to stockpile the right Secret Letters, then keep farming Nocturnal Echoes until they’re in the shop rotation.
How to unlock upcoming characters fast
- Progress the story until you can comfortably clear Covert Commissions (they’re level 40) to open Secret Letters reliably.
- Convert 10 Secret Letter Clues into a Secret Letter for the character you want. You need 30 Thoughts to unlock a character.
- Where Clues come from:
- Daily objectives: 15 Secret Letter Clues per day.
- Mystic Maze: 30 Secret Letter Clues weekly.
- Immersive Theater: up to 280 Secret Letter Clues per refresh, plus featured Secret Letters for the new character.
- Nocturnal Echoes: weekly bosses award Secret Letters tied to the current pool.
- Run the Character category of Covert Commissions when you have the matching Secret Letter. After a successful run, you’ll pick one reward from three; Thoughts are not guaranteed, so expect a grind.
Tip: For weapons and Demon Wedges, a single blueprint drop unlocks crafting; materials to build them drop from the same Secret Letter pool.
Who’s playable right now
There are 18 playable characters today, counting the Protagonist (Phoxhunter). The current roster includes: Berenica, Lady Nifle, Lisbell, Psyche, Truffle and Filbert, Rebecca, Lynn, Sibylle, Tabethe, Phantasio, Margie, Hellfire, Yale and Oliver, Outsider, Daphne, Rhythm, and Randy.
Several are obtainable through normal story play or limited events, with others unlocked via the Secret Letter system. Event examples include early giveaways like Berenica via global pre‑registration, while Margie is granted after the tutorial alongside a starter melee weapon.
What to do before November 25
- Clear Immersive Theater tiers now to practice routes and scoring; Fina’s Secret Letters will live here for the first 28 days.
- Bank Secret Letter Clues from dailies and weekly modes so you can convert immediately when Fina rotates into Nocturnal Echoes and later the shop.
- Push your main build to comfortably handle level‑40 Covert Commissions; this keeps your Thought gains steady once you’re opening Letters.
Fina’s arrival kicks off a steady cadence: 28 days in Immersive Theater, then weekly bosses, then the shop. If you’re diligent with daily Clues and weekly modes, you can add each newcomer to your roster without spending money—and be ready when the v1.1 quartet lands.
