Safes are scattered across Castor Woods in Dying Light: The Beast. Many appear in mission spaces or notable interiors and each uses a three-number combination. Below you’ll find every fixed safe code reliably identified so far, plus practical tips for cracking safes even if you haven’t found the clue yet.

How combinations work

  • Combinations are three numbers read left to right.
  • If a clue shows a leading zero (for example, “07”), enter the single digit (“7”) on the dial.
  • Most safes contain valuables or cash; a few hold unique rewards tied to quests or lore.

Open any safe without a code (controller method)

If you play with a controller and vibration enabled, rotate the dial very slowly. You’ll feel a subtle, distinct rumble when the selector passes a correct number. Stop on these numbers to test the sequence.

  • Expect one “false positive”: crossing the number 50 also produces a unique rumble. Treat the 50-buzz as noise and rely on confirmation from the other two numbers.
  • This method isn’t guaranteed, but it’s reliable enough to skip searching for some clues.

Tip: Nighttime activities grant increased XP, but you’ll face more threats. If you plan to loot safes after dark, bring UV tools, meds, and a clear escape route.

Finding the clue quickly

  • Use your flashlight’s UV mode whenever a safe is nearby; several codes are painted to appear only under UV.
  • Check walls, boards, posters, and photo frames. Codes are often disguised as dates, equations, or room sequences.
  • In offices and classrooms, scan chalkboards/whiteboards for puzzles (for example, binary you must convert).
  • If a safe isn’t where expected, revisit during the related mission. Some strongboxes only spawn as part of a quest step.

Troubleshooting

  • If a listed code doesn’t open a safe, recheck the immediate area for a note or UV marking; locations can shift with patches.
  • Treat leading zeros in clues as single digits on the dial (e.g., “09” means 9).
  • When using the vibration method, move the dial slowly. If you catch two confident “correct-number” rumbles, brute-force the third.

This list focuses on fixed safes with consistent rewards. The open world can surface additional containers with randomized loot; treat those as opportunistic finds. As updates roll out, expect minor placement or reward changes—keep an eye out for fresh notes, posters, and UV hints in familiar spaces.
