Dying Light: The Beast (PC) save locations — Steam, Epic, backups

If you want a local backup of your Dying Light: The Beast progress or need to move a save between machines, you can grab the files directly from your PC. Below are the default Windows folders for Steam and Epic, plus where the game stores automatic backups.

Dying Light: The Beast save location (Steam on Windows)

The game’s Steam app ID is 3008130. By default, your save data sits inside your Steam installation’s user data path:

For the raw save files themselves, look inside the save subfolder at that same location:

%PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Steam\userdata\\3008130\remote\out\save

Example with the default Steam directory on 64-bit Windows:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[Steam ID]\3008130\remote\out\save

Note: <user id> is your Steam account’s folder under \userdata\. If you installed Steam to a different drive, substitute your actual Steam folder.

Dying Light: The Beast save location (Epic Games on Windows)

Epic stores the game’s saves in your Documents library:

Back up or move your Dying Light: The Beast saves

• Close the game before copying any files.
• Steam: copy the entire 3008130 folder under \Steam\userdata\<user id>\ for a complete backup, or just copy remote\out\save for the save data only.
• Epic: copy the out\storage folder under \Documents\dying light the beast\.
• Restore by placing the files back into the same paths on the target PC and letting them overwrite if prompted.

Tip: Backing up the full Steam 3008130 directory is the simplest way to preserve everything related to the game’s profile on your machine.

Where the game keeps automatic backup saves (Windows)

The Beast also writes backup saves to your Documents folder. If your active save is damaged, you can pull one of these backups and replace the corrupted files:

• Copy a recent file from out-save_backups.
• Paste it into your active save folder (remote\out\save on Steam or out\storage on Epic).
• Rename it to match the file it’s replacing if needed.

About cloud saves

The game supports cloud saving, but local copies are still useful for manual transfers or as an extra safeguard.

Once you’ve made a clean copy, keep it somewhere outside your Steam or Documents trees so it isn’t accidentally synced or overwritten later.
