EA FC 26 Team of the Year: Full nominee list and how fan voting works

EA SPORTS FC 26’s Team of the Year promo is back, and the shortlists for both the men’s and women’s XIs are locked in. For Ultimate Team players this is one of the most important moments of the cycle, because the final Team of the Year selections receive some of the strongest items in the game, alongside Honorable Mentions for standout players who miss the main squad.

Fans help shape that final XI by voting on position-specific shortlists, then picking a captain for each team. Voting is open for a limited time, so it is worth understanding the process and the full pool of candidates before submitting a squad.

EA FC 26 TOTY voting window and format

The voting period for EA FC 26 Team of the Year opened on January 7, 2026 and runs until January 12 at 5:59 PM BST. Once the window closes, EA tallies the votes and reveals the final men’s and women’s XIs ahead of the promo’s in-game launch on January 16.

Each fan vote has three key parts:

  • You build a starting XI from the nominees, filling all positions.
  • You then choose a captain from that XI.
  • Your selections contribute to which players receive full TOTY items and who ends up in Honorable Mentions.

There are separate shortlists for the men’s and women’s teams, each broken down into goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and attackers.

How to vote on the EA FC 26 TOTY website

The most direct way to vote is through EA’s dedicated Team of the Year portal.

Step 1: Go to the official EA SPORTS FC 26 Team of the Year voting site at toty.easports.com. Select your preferred language or region if prompted.

Step 2: Choose whether you want to work on the men’s or women’s Team of the Year first. Each has its own set of positional tiles for goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and attackers.

Step 3: Click a position group to open its shortlist, then scroll through the nominees. When you click on a player, that nominee is slotted into your XI in the appropriate area of the on-screen formation.

Step 4: Continue adding players until all 11 slots in your lineup are filled. You can remove a player from the XI and free up a slot again if you change your mind before submitting.

Step 5: After completing the XI, proceed to the next screen and select your captain. The captain must be one of the players already in your lineup.

Step 6: Confirm your choices and use the “Submit Vote” option to lock in your ballot. Once submitted, your XI and captain choice are counted in the overall vote.

How voting works inside Ultimate Team

Voting also ties into Ultimate Team itself. When the voting phase begins in-game, you can register your picks by selecting specific players from the nominees and, in the process, receive loan versions of those cards for a limited number of matches. Choosing a player through this in-game flow both adds that loan item to your club and records a vote for that nominee.

The in-game flow is useful if you want to test how certain players feel on the pitch before committing to your final web vote, and it mirrors the same positional and captain structure used on the standalone voting site.

What your TOTY vote changes in Ultimate Team

Final Team of the Year selections have a direct impact on Ultimate Team content. Players who make the men’s and women’s XIs receive special TOTY items with major boosts to key attributes, updated in-game artwork, and heavy presence in packs during the promo. Those who narrowly miss the cut but still stand out can be featured through Honorable Mentions items, which sit below full TOTY cards but above standard upgrades.

The promo also tends to bring additional content around those squads, including themed Squad Building Challenges and objectives tied to TOTY or Honorable Mentions players. Because of that, the composition of the final squads influences the market, squad-building trends, and what you are likely to encounter in online play for weeks afterwards.

With voting open for a limited time and a deep pool of both established stars and emerging talents, the main choices are whether to reward peak performance, long-term consistency, or personal favourites. Once you have settled on a philosophy for your XI, the TOTY portal and Ultimate Team flows make submitting that ballot a straightforward process.
