Every High Potential Season 2 Episode, Ranked and Scheduled Through March 2026

High Potential Season 2 launched on September 16, 2025, with an expanded 18-episode order — five more than the first season's 13. Starring Kaitlin Olson as Morgan Gillory, the brainy LAPD consultant with an IQ of 160, the sophomore run has already delivered 12 episodes. But the show is currently on a multi-week hiatus, with the next new installment not arriving until March 2026.

Quick answer: The most recent episode, "The Faust and the Furious" (S2E12), aired February 3, 2026. The next new episode, "In the Driver's Seat" (S2E13), is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. ET on ABC. Six episodes remain in the season.

Note: The dates marked with an asterisk for episodes 14–18 are preliminary listings and may shift. Episode 13 ("In the Driver's Seat") is confirmed for March 3 despite episodes 14 and 15 showing earlier February dates in some listings — those February slots are currently occupied by reruns, not new episodes. ABC has not officially confirmed final air dates for the remaining installments beyond Episode 13.

Why High Potential is off the air in February 2026

ABC pulled new episodes from its Tuesday lineup for several weeks in February. On February 10 and February 17, the network is airing repeat episodes in the 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. time slots following new installments of Will Trent. February 24 is occupied by the State of the Union address, which preempts primetime programming across all major broadcast networks.

The break also appears designed to avoid direct competition with NBC's coverage of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, along with the Super Bowl. Sports events of that scale consistently pull massive audiences across linear TV and streaming, making it strategically sensible for ABC to hold back its strongest scripted programming. Will Trent, which only recently started its fourth season as a midseason entry, continues airing new episodes because it has a larger backlog to burn through.

Season 2 story arcs so far

The season opened with a two-part resolution to the Game Maker storyline that closed out Season 1. David Giuntoli's serial kidnapper was captured in "Checkmate" after Morgan connected him to physical evidence he'd used to frame an innocent man. With that threat neutralized early, the season pivoted to a new overarching mystery involving Roman, the father of Morgan's daughter Ava, who disappeared 15 years ago.

Mekhi Phifer joined the cast as Arthur Ellis, a man claiming Roman sent him to watch over Morgan and her kids. Arthur provided Roman's backpack, which contained a drawing of Ava's childhood dance recital — proof Roman had been secretly observing his family even after vanishing. Arthur was later attacked by an unknown figure and went into hiding, telling Lieutenant Soto the attacker matched someone in Roman's old photographs. His truck was found abandoned, phone left behind.

Steve Howey's Captain Nick Wagner brought a new dynamic to the LAPD's Major Crimes division, creating friction with Judy Reyes's Soto over authority and case management. That tension peaked in "Grounded" when Wagner's decision to secretly use Morgan during her detective training led to her being fired by Internal Affairs — a situation Soto resolved through some creative leverage. Meanwhile, Susan Kelechi Watson arrived as Lucia, Karadec's ex-fiancée, reigniting a romantic thread that complicates the slow-burning chemistry between Morgan and her partner.

The most recent episode, "The Faust and the Furious," featured a locked-room mystery involving a tech CEO obsessed with life extension, while Oz dealt with the personal revelation that his late father's headstone was never purchased. Morgan and Karadec found themselves trapped in the same room where the victim died, triggering a panic attack for Morgan that Karadec helped her through — another moment feeding the "will they, won't they" tension the show has been building.

Where to watch and stream

New episodes air Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. ET / 8:00 p.m. CT on ABC. Episodes become available to stream on Hulu and Disney+ the following day, typically around 3:00 a.m. ET on Wednesdays. All 12 aired episodes from Season 2, along with the complete first season, are currently available on both platforms. International viewers can find the series on Disney+ with a roughly three-week delay from the U.S. broadcast dates.

Season 2 ratings and critical reception

The second season holds a perfect 100% Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes from six critic reviews, with a Metacritic score of 75 out of 100. The Season 2 premiere drew 4.34 million live viewers on ABC, growing to 7.98 million when factoring in DVR and streaming within seven days. Including encore broadcasts, the premiere reached 15.9 million total viewers across platforms — a 28% increase over the Season 1 fall debut.

Viewership has remained steady throughout the fall and winter run, with episodes consistently landing between 7 and 8 million total viewers in the live-plus-seven-day window. The show remains ABC's strongest scripted performer on Tuesday nights and one of the most-streamed broadcast series on Hulu.

When High Potential returns on March 3 with "In the Driver's Seat," six episodes will remain in the season. That's a substantial runway compared to the 13-episode first season, and with the Roman mystery deepening, Karadec's rekindled romance with Lucia creating complications, and an unknown figure stalking Morgan, there's plenty of ground to cover before the Season 2 finale.
