Chapter Seven: Pacific Break resets Fortnite’s battle royale arsenal with a near‑total loot pool refresh. Almost every gun and gadget you touch this season is new, with just a handful of classics returning to keep things familiar.

The core theme is clear: fast, aggressive combat backed by strong mobility and new ways to stay alive. Here’s how each new weapon and item works, what it’s good at, and where it tends to show up.


Overview of the Chapter 7 Season 1 loot pool

The current battle royale loot pool is built around a small set of weapon families plus a few high‑impact utilities:

Only five combat items carry over from older seasons: Tactical Pistol, Enforcer AR, Dual Micro SMGs, Dynamite, and Grenades. Everything else is new to learn.


Deadeye Assault Rifle

The Deadeye Assault Rifle is the main new AR and the backbone of most mid‑range duels.

  • Role: Precision beam for tagging rotations and cracking shields

Deadeye behaves like a scoped heavy rifle. The scope gives strong accuracy and damage at range but makes you more exposed when aiming. It’s ideal on high ground or behind cover when you can take your time lining up headshots.

You can pick up Deadeye from standard chests, vending machines, and floor loot. A mythic variant drops from the boss Hush, who can appear at Ripped Tides, Classified Canyon, Peelian Swamp (west of Painted Palms), Paws Inn (west of Wonkeeland), or Sunset Falls (south of Wonkeeland).


Iron Pump Shotgun

The Iron Pump Shotgun fills the classic pump role with a slightly modernized feel.

  • Type: Pump shotgun
  • Effective range: Close, with some short mid‑range
  • Role: Heavy single‑shot burst, especially on headshots

Iron Pump favors players who can land precise shots. It hits hard, particularly to the head, and retains enough pellet density to chip opponents just outside pure melee range. The fire rate is slower than autos, so you’re trading forgiveness for raw burst.

Find Iron Pump in chests, vending machines, and on the ground. A gold version is also purchasable from some NPC vending spots around the island.


Twin Hammer Shotguns

Twin Hammer Shotguns are Chapter 7’s answer to the long‑requested “dual pumps.”

  • Type: Dual‑wielded pump shotguns
  • Effective range: Close
  • Role: Fast follow‑up bursts in box fights and hallway pushes

Rather than one extremely slow pump, you fire alternating barrels at a surprisingly healthy tempo. In practice, they feel closer to an automatic shotgun built out of two pumps, letting you commit to fast pushes without fully giving up damage per shot.

Twin Hammers drop from chests, vending machines, and floor loot. To secure the strongest version, eliminate the boss Beach Brutus, who, like the other bosses, can spawn at:

  • Ripped Tides
  • Classified Canyon
  • Peelian Swamp (west of Painted Palms)
  • Paws Inn (west of Wonkeeland)
  • Sunset Falls (south of Wonkeeland)

Holo Rush SMG

The Holo Rush SMG breaks the usual “close‑only” SMG pattern.

  • Type: Scoped SMG
  • Effective range: Close to mid
  • Role: Versatile spray weapon that can also hold distance

A built‑in scope lets Holo Rush contest targets farther than most SMGs should. You can apply pressure from mid‑range, then close the gap and hip‑fire once your opponent is cracked. It pairs naturally with a shotgun and sniper: sniper for opening tags, Holo Rush to finish shields, shotgun to clean up.

You’ll see Holo Rush SMGs in chests, vending machines, and as floor loot all over the Golden Coast.


Dual Micro SMGs and Tactical Pistol

Three smaller arms round out the light‑ammo category:

  • Dual Micro SMGs: Returning dual‑wield spray weapons built for point‑blank shredding. They eat light ammo quickly but melt boxes and tight corners.
  • Tactical Pistol: A familiar sidearm with improved stats that can function as a backup mid‑range weapon when you haven’t found a rifle.

Both drop as standard loot and from vending machines. They also appear as part of boss kits and NPC drops in some locations.


Vengeful Sniper Rifle

The Vengeful Sniper Rifle is the lone dedicated sniper in the Season 1 pool.

  • Type: Bolt‑action sniper rifle
  • Magazine size: 3 rounds
  • Effective range: Long
  • Role: Long‑distance picks and rotation punishments

Vengeful Sniper behaves like earlier long‑range rifles, with noticeable bullet drop on distant shots. You can’t simply point and click at extreme range; you have to lead moving targets and aim slightly above them.

Each magazine holds three powerful shots. Headshots deal heavy damage, but the fire rate is slow enough that missed shots are punishing. You’ll find the rifle in standard chests, vending machines, and floor loot throughout the island.


Arc Lightning Gun

The Arc Lightning Gun replaces bullets with a stream of electricity.

  • Type: Continuous‑beam special weapon
  • Effective range: Close to mid
  • Role: Melting players, builds, and vehicles at sustained range

Hold the trigger to emit a jet of electrical damage that rapidly strips health and shields when you stay on target. The beam can also interact with structures and vehicles, making it a strong answer to players hiding behind weak cover or relying on cars.

Regular Arc Lightning Guns appear from chests, vending machines, and as floor loot. A mythic version comes from defeating the boss Human Bill, who, like Hush and Beach Brutus, can spawn at Ripped Tides, Classified Canyon, Peelian Swamp, Paws Inn, or Sunset Falls.


Forsaken Vow Blade

The Forsaken Vow Blade is the season’s high‑mobility melee weapon.

  • Type: Sword / blade
  • Moves: Close‑range slashes, multiple dash attacks
  • Role: Gap‑closing, repositioning, and surprise burst damage

This blade fuses elements of earlier katanas. You can dash forward up to three times in quick succession, chaining into rapid light attacks at close range. The dashes double as both engage and disengage tools, letting you rip through a box or bail from a bad angle.

To obtain a Forsaken Vow Blade, enter one of the yellow rifts that appear randomly across the island. The rifts show up as yellow icons on your mini‑map. When you exit the rift you receive the blade, then need to defeat three NPC opponents before you can leave safely.


Wingsuit

The Wingsuit is Chapter 7’s headline traversal gadget.

  • Type: Mobility item
  • Function: Vertical launch into a glide
  • Role: Fast rotations, high‑ground access, disengage tool

Activating a Wingsuit launches you upward, then automatically transitions you into a glide. You don’t have fine‑grained control mid‑flight, so you need to aim yourself roughly where you want to go before takeoff. It’s best used to escape collapsing zones, reach remote rooftops, or reposition across canyons and bays.

Wingsuits drop from chests and as floor loot. They also synergize naturally with high‑ground features like the new hot air balloons scattered around Golden Coast.


Self‑Revive Device / Self‑Revive Kit

The new self‑revive items fundamentally change what “down but not out” means, even in solo play.

  • Type: Survival utility item
  • Function: Revive yourself while knocked
  • Role: Second‑chance insurance in solos and squads

When you’re knocked instead of eliminated, you can use a Self‑Revive Kit or Self‑Revive Device to stand back up. In solos this means you no longer die outright to the final blow; you crawl, then can self‑res if you’re not finished off.

After reviving yourself you return with 30 HP and no shield, so the item buys you time, not safety. You can crawl into cover, into the storm, or even into the back of a drivable reboot van before using it. In some modes, self‑revive items can be purchased from medical vending machines or looted from supply drops and care packages that fall during Rift Anomalies.


Grenades, Dynamite, and other returning items

Alongside the new toys, a few familiar explosives and guns are back in circulation:

  • Grenades: Classic thrown explosives, now with a refreshed look.
  • Dynamite: Thrown charges that stick and detonate after a delay, useful for cracking walls and structures.
  • Enforcer AR: A fast‑firing mid‑range rifle that sits below Deadeye in raw power but feels more forgiving.

These items help stabilize the early game when you haven’t yet picked up the newer weapons, and they remain perfectly viable in late‑circle scrambles.


Boss kits and how they interact with the new weapons

Every major boss—Human Bill, Hush, and Beach Brutus—drops two key rewards when defeated:

  • A mythic version of their signature weapon (Arc Lightning Gun, Deadeye Assault Rifle, or Twin Hammer Shotguns).
  • A boss kit that lets you transform into that boss.

Picking up a boss kit changes your appearance to match the NPC and grants significant stat boosts: full health and shield, increased maximum health and shield, infinite energy, and a powerful unique ability. The trade‑offs are equally important:

  • Your location becomes visible to nearby opponents at all times.
  • The kit consumes one of your inventory slots until you die or the match ends.

These kits effectively turn the associated weapon into a centerpiece of your loadout. A mythic Deadeye with boss perks, for example, turns you into a long‑range anchor for your squad, while Beach Brutus’ mythic Twin Hammers make you a close‑range brawler who can bully final circles—if you survive the attention.


How the new items reshape your loadouts

Because Chapter 7’s loot pool is compact, most strong loadouts pull from the same core pieces:

  • Standard aggressive loadout: Iron Pump Shotgun or Twin Hammer Shotguns, Holo Rush SMG, Arc Lightning Gun, Wingsuit, one healing slot.
  • Balanced loadout: Deadeye Assault Rifle, Iron Pump Shotgun, Vengeful Sniper, Wingsuit or Forsaken Vow Blade, one healing slot.
  • Boss‑centric loadout: Mythic boss weapon (Deadeye / Arc Lightning / Twin Hammers), complementary shotgun or SMG if needed, Wingsuit, Self‑Revive item, one healing slot.

The Self‑Revive Device and drivable reboot vans reduce the pressure to carry multiple healing items, especially in squads, which frees up inventory space for mobility and a special weapon. Meanwhile, Forsaken Vow Blade and Wingsuit give almost any composition a way to break stalemates or retreat from doomed positions.

Fortnite’s Golden Coast island leans into high ground, long sightlines, and sudden verticality. The new arsenal is built to match that geography: fast dashes, vertical launches, scoped rifles, and hard‑hitting close‑range options that reward decisive pushes.
