Requirements to redeem Genshin Impact codes
Most promotional codes can be redeemed only after the account’s main character reaches Adventure Rank 10 or higher. GENSHINGIFT is a special exception that can be used from Adventure Rank 1, but you still need Adventure Rank 2 to open in-game mail and claim the rewards.
Each code can be used once per account. If a code is entered again after it has been claimed, the system either rejects it as already used or sends in-game mail stating that the rewards have already been claimed for that account. Codes of the same type also cannot be redeemed multiple times by the same character.
How to redeem Genshin Impact codes on the website
Using the official redeem site is the fastest way to activate a code if you are not currently in the game client.
Step 1: Open the official Genshin Impact code redemption page at https://genshin.hoyoverse.com/en/gift and sign in with the same HoYoverse Account you use for your game profile.
Step 2: Make sure you have at least one in-game character created, then select your server region from the drop-down list.
Step 3: Enter your character nickname exactly as it appears in-game and type or paste the redemption code into the code field, then select “Redeem”.
Step 4: Wait for the “redemption successful” confirmation, then log in to Genshin Impact and open the in-game mail (letter icon) to claim the attached rewards within 30 days.
Note: If the website reports that the code is invalid or expired, the reward cannot be claimed. If it reports that the code has already been used, that account has already received the reward.
How to redeem Genshin Impact codes in-game
Codes can also be entered directly from the client once the account meets the Adventure Rank requirement.
Step 1: Start Genshin Impact, open the Paimon/main menu, and select the cogwheel icon to open the Settings menu.
Step 2: Go to the “Account” tab near the bottom of the left-hand list and choose the “Redeem Code” or equivalent option.
Step 3: Type or paste the active redemption code into the text field and confirm the exchange.
Step 4: Open the in-game mailbox and select “Claim” or “Claim All” on the new mail containing the rewards.
On iOS, only the website method is available; the in-game redemption entry is not provided on that platform.
How to confirm a Genshin Impact code worked
A valid and unused code produces two confirmations. First, the website or in-game interface shows a successful redemption message after submission. Second, a new system mail arrives in the in-game mailbox with the exact list of rewards from the code. If either of these is missing, the redemption did not complete.
Common failure causes are not meeting the Adventure Rank requirement, entering an expired code, making a typing mistake such as an extra space at the beginning or end of the code, or attempting to claim a code that has already been used on that account.
