How to find the Rocket Thrusters in ARC Raiders’ Greasing Her Palms quest

The Greasing Her Palms quest in ARC Raiders sends you across three maps to “scope out” specific locations. The most confusing step is on Spaceport, where you’re told to check the rocket thrusters outside Rocket Assembly. Many players run circles around the launch site, find multiple engines, and still never see the task complete.

Where the rocket thrusters are on Spaceport

The quest text points you to Spaceport and tells you to scope out the rocket thrusters outside Rocket Assembly. In practice, the objective is tied to a very particular thruster cluster on the ground beneath the Rocket Assembly site, not to the big structures mounted higher up.

From Rocket Assembly, move down to the open area under the main rocket wreckage. You are looking for two huge engine sections lying on the ground with a broken rocket around them. The correct objective area is closer to Control Tower A6 than to the Rocket Assembly marker itself, roughly in the middle of the broken rocket debris field.

There is usually a Bastion and other ARC enemies roaming this open zone, so expect to be under pressure while you search.

How to make the “scope out the rocket thrusters” task register

The biggest issue with this objective is its very small trigger zone. Simply being near the rocket engines or walking all the way around them often doesn’t count; you need to stand in a very specific spot beside one of the thrusters.

Step 1: Start a raid on Spaceport and move to Rocket Assembly. Drop down or path around until you reach the open ground directly beneath the assembly structure, near the broken rocket lying across the area.

Step 2: Locate the two large engine sections that sit almost in the middle of the wreckage, in the open. Head toward the engine that sits farther from Rocket Assembly and slightly closer to Control Tower A6.

Step 3: Move to the right-hand side of that farther engine. Look for a small crater or depression in the ground immediately beside the thruster housing.

Step 4: Stand inside that small crater, right next to the thruster. The objective updates once your character is inside this tight area; you do not need to interact with anything.

Players who only skim the perimeter, stay on the opposite side of the engines, or hug the north and south thrusters around Rocket Assembly often never cross this specific trigger zone, which is why the task feels inconsistent.

Tip: It is easy to miss the completion message in the chaos of fighting drones and a Bastion. If you’re unsure whether it registered, quickly check the quest log before leaving the area.

Common pitfalls with the rocket thruster objective

A few patterns explain why this step causes so much confusion:

  • Wrong thrusters: There are multiple engines around Rocket Assembly. Only the pair on the ground, closer to Control Tower A6 and in the middle of the broken rocket, count for this task.
  • Tiny detection area: The completion zone is not a large circle around the rocket. It is effectively anchored on one side of a single thruster, in a small ground depression.
  • Enemy pressure: A Bastion and rocketeer-type enemies often patrol here. Many players are focused on survival and never pause in the exact location long enough to notice the task ticking off.

How Greasing Her Palms works across all three maps

Scoping out the rocket thrusters is only one part of Greasing Her Palms. The quest spans three different maps and asks you to visit three tightly defined locations:

Task Map Location summary
Scope out the rocket thrusters outside of Rocket Assembly Spaceport Open ground beneath Rocket Assembly, near the broken rocket and Control Tower A6
Visit the Locked Room in the Water Treatment Control Building Dam Battlegrounds Water Treatment Control, between the Primary Facility and South Swamp Outpost, under the Hydroponic Dome Complex
Visit the Barricaded area on floor 6 of the Space Travel Building Buried City Space Travel building by the Research building, next to Marano Park, between the Town Hall and the Library

Dam Battlegrounds: Visiting the locked room in Water Treatment Control

The second task shifts to Dam Battlegrounds and is more straightforward once you know the building layout.

Step 1: Load into Dam Battlegrounds and head for the Water Treatment Control location. On the map, this sits between the Primary Facility and South Swamp Outpost, just below the Hydroponic Dome Complex.

Step 2: Enter the Water Treatment Control building and follow the main corridor to the end. You will find a locked door that requires a Dam Surveillance Key.

Step 3: Use the Dam Surveillance Key on this door. As soon as you unlock it, the quest updates the “visit the Locked Room in the Water Treatment Control Building” objective.

Note: The quest only needs you to unlock the room; you do not have to loot anything specific for the task to count.

Buried City: Reaching the barricaded area in the Space Travel building

The final leg of Greasing Her Palms takes place in Buried City and asks you to reach a blocked-off area high in a tower.

Step 1: Start a raid in Buried City and move toward the Space Travel building. It sits next to the Research building, by Marano Park, roughly between the Town Hall and the Library.

Step 2: Enter the building and fight your way upward to floor 6. Expect ARC enemies on the way up, as this is flagged as a high-value loot area.

Step 3: On floor 6, look for the barricaded section referenced in the quest text. Once you reach and unlock this barricaded area, the objective completes.

After this, all three tasks for Greasing Her Palms are done and the quest is finished.

Rocket Thruster as an item vs. the quest location

ARC Raiders also includes a Rocket Thruster as a separate inventory item. It is a rare recyclable material that can be found while scavenging in Exodus. It cannot be crafted and is used purely as a source of crafting components when recycled or salvaged.

This item is unrelated to the “scope out the rocket thrusters” objective in Greasing Her Palms. The quest step only cares about you standing in the correct location on Spaceport; there is no requirement to pick up or use a Rocket Thruster item to progress.

Keeping that distinction in mind helps avoid chasing drops or containers you do not actually need for the quest.

Once you know that the Spaceport task is tied to a single small crater beside the correct ground-level thruster cluster, Greasing Her Palms becomes a quick tour of three marked points of interest rather than a vague scavenger hunt. If the Spaceport step is still not ticking for you, return to the open area beneath Rocket Assembly, orient toward Control Tower A6, and deliberately walk the right-hand side of the farther engine until the objective completes.
