Platinum roadmap: two playthroughs, one online session
You need two full runs: one as Low (bow, black hair) and one as Alone (wrench, orange hair). The order doesn’t matter, and you can mix solo and online co-op across chapters. Plan these in your route:
- Finish all four chapters twice (once per character) for the character-completion Gold trophies.
- Collectibles across the game: 25 Dolls, 6 Nomes, 10 Lady Statues, and 5 Ghosts.
- Counter trophies you can chip away at anywhere:
- Hello? — use the companion call 50 times (PlayStation: press
△
). - Guiding Hands — hold hands for a total of five minutes (hold
R2
). - Spanner in the Works — swing Alone’s wrench 50 times.
- Bullseye — fire Low’s bow 50 times.
- Hello? — use the companion call 50 times (PlayStation: press
- Online-only: Special Connection (Gold). This requires playing online; there’s no local offline co-op.
Tip: Knock out most counter-based trophies in your first run; leave anything you miss and the second character’s actions for run two.

Chapter 1 — Necropolis: high-yield start
- Story: Child’s Play (finish the chapter).
- Peekaboo: Survive all “big baby” sequences without dying. There are nine interactions across short chases, a drop, and multiple eye-light stealth sections. The unlock triggers after you exit the baby’s area at the end of the final interaction.
- The Windy City: Open the umbrella at the last possible moment before you hit the ground. There are several qualifying drops, including shortly after you get the umbrella, mid-chapter, and at the final drop to the chapter exit.
- Birdbrained: As Alone, shoot down 11 crows in this chapter (there are 14 available; the trophy pops at 11). Note that firing the bow to scare crows also advances Bullseye.
- Good place to grind: Destructible vases and objects accelerate Spanner in the Works (wrench uses) and Bullseye (bow shots).
Chapter 2 — Candy Factory: story and sets
- Story: Unsupervised (finish the chapter).
- Collectibles: Continue working toward the global totals for Dolls, Lady Statues, and Ghosts. Chapter-specific five-item sets also live here (see the list section below).
Chapter 3 — Carnevale: most missables live here
- Story: Showstoppers and Light or Flight (you’ll pick up a flashlight early, after taking an elevator).
- Capital Punishment: After powering an elevator with a fuse and riding it, you’ll reach a power switch used to move a large sculpture. Climb the left ladder, trigger the nearby button (throw an object or shoot it with Low’s bow), and wait for the unlock.
- Home Sweet Nome: Hug all six Nomes in the first half of the chapter.
- Stay Tuned: After climbing a tall shelf of bottles and using a bathtub to advance, enter a dark corridor. Ignore the intended door on the back-left for a moment; continue to the last door on the right to find a piano. Move back and forth a few times.
- Delivery Feed: Shortly after you escape capture by the man with the hand puppet, grab a sausage in the kitchen and bring it to the caged boy in the next room.
- Aim Low (and Alone): Complete the shooting gallery by hitting only the plates with Nomes until all nine indicator lights above are lit. If you’re solo as Alone, call your AI partner (
△
) to fire at the correct targets. Both players earn it in co-op. - More destructibles: Another solid spot to farm wrench/bow uses.
Chapter 4 — The Institute: late unlocks and the final sweep
- Story: Spiral Out (finish the chapter) and Illuminating Experiences (you’ll pick up a doll mid-chapter that shifts the world around you).
- Institutionalized: Involves finding six hidden kids in this chapter.
- Note on Hello?: You can trigger the call nearly anywhere, but not after beating the final boss. If you still need it, spam calls before the final sequence.
Counter trophies you can finish anywhere
- Hello? — use the companion call 50 times (
△
). You can do this during downtime in any area before the final boss. - Guiding Hands — hold hands for five total minutes (hold
R2
). You can walk while holding hands, but you can’t jump; both solo and online co-op count. - Spanner in the Works — use Alone’s wrench 50 times. Breaking vases counts, as do required story interactions. Chapters 1 and 3 offer the most targets.
- Bullseye — fire Low’s bow 50 times. Breaking objects, story uses, and scaring crows all count. This can pop as early as midway through Chapter 1.
Collectibles and chapter set totals
For platinum, you need every collectible:
- 25 Dolls (global total).
- 6 Nomes (all in Chapter 3).
- 10 Lady Statues (global total).
- 5 Ghosts (global total).
There are also chapter-thematic five-item sets reflected by specific trophies (e.g., Toybox, Candy Shop, Filed Away). Track them as you progress; they map cleanly to their chapter themes.

Online co-op requirement: what to know
Special Connection (Gold) requires an online co-op session. There’s no local split-screen or couch co-op, and on PlayStation you’ll need an active online subscription. Expect sections with tight chase timing, so plan to play with a second person rather than trying to juggle two controllers yourself. You can mix online chapters into either of your character runs; progress counts either way.
With two planned runs, a mindful sweep of Chapter 3’s missables, and steady progress on the counters, this is a tidy platinum. Treat Chapter 1 as your farm for object-breaking and bow shots, turn Chapter 3 into your cleanup hub, and leave the online requirement for a short dedicated session.
