New features in Friendly Fishing

The add-on introduces a tap-based fishing mini-game and more than 90 fish species to catch, including tuna, clams, anchovies, sharks, and more. Each species comes with distinct behaviors, pushing players to time inputs and adapt tactics.

A built-in Fish Encyclopedia lets players log catches, track weights, see typical habitats, and view endangered status. After a successful catch, you can release it or keep it for a custom aquarium. The pack also adds a diving suit so you can explore underwater, with the possibility of discovering sunken ruins and loot.

Ocean cleanup gameplay

Fishing doesn’t just bring up sea life. Players will also hook plastic waste that affects the in-game ecosystem. Trash can be recycled into unique items, and collecting more debris unlocks additional gear and more fish species to catch. The loop ties in-game cleanup to real-world awareness about ocean health.

Availability and where to get it

Friendly Fishing is live now for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition via the Minecraft Marketplace page. Mojang’s overview and the full charity terms are detailed on the official announcement.

For players, it’s a low-friction way to expand Minecraft with a new fishing loop while directing sales toward conservation throughout the donation window.
