Pokémon TCG Pocket Heliolisk & Buneary Wonder Pick event guide

The Heliolisk & Buneary Wonder Pick event in Pokémon TCG Pocket is a limited-time way to chase two Crimson Blaze promo cards and a full set of Goomy-themed cosmetics. It runs across the early January event window, with Wonder Picks featuring the new promos and a temporary event shop that burns through special tickets you earn as you play.

Event period and how it works

The Heliolisk & Buneary Wonder Pick event is tied to the Crimson Blaze expansion and focuses on two alternate-art promo cards, PROMO-B-018 and PROMO-B-019, featuring Heliolisk and Buneary. During the event window, Wonder Pick refreshes can surface special “Bonus Picks” and rarer “Chansey Picks” that are built entirely around these promos and event currencies.

The broader rollout spans mid-January. One schedule outlines the Wonder Pick event itself from January 8 to January 18 (local in-game time), with the associated event shop staying open through January 26 so you can spend leftover tickets. Another schedule frames the main UTC-based period as January 9, 2026 at 6:00 AM UTC through January 26, 2026 at 5:59 AM UTC. In practice, you have a little over two weeks from the first appearance of the promos in Wonder Pick to the final deadline to cash in event tickets.

Once the event ends and the event shop closes, any unspent event shop tickets and Promo Card Exchange Tickets lose their value for this campaign, so plan your pulls and purchases with the time limit in mind.

Wonder Pick basics, Wonder Stamina, and Hourglasses

Wonder Pick is a rotating selection of five cards that periodically refreshes throughout the day. For this event, the key layers are:

  • Standard Wonder Picks that behave as usual and are not event-specific.
  • Bonus Picks, which are free event-focused sets that cost no Wonder Stamina.
  • Chansey Picks, premium sets that spend Wonder Stamina but guarantee promo cards.

Wonder Stamina is the limiting resource for paid Wonder Picks. Chansey Picks in this event cost 2 Wonder Stamina, which is described as equivalent to 24 Wonder Hourglass items. Wonder Hourglasses effectively refill the stamina you need to keep pulling on Chansey Picks once you run dry from natural regeneration.

Both Bonus Picks and Chansey Picks appear as special options at the time of a Wonder Pick refresh. They are time-limited offers, expiring somewhere between 30 minutes and 4 hours after they show up, so you cannot bank them indefinitely.

Bonus Picks: free pulls and promo odds

Bonus Picks are the event’s free-roll layer. When the Wonder Pick screen refreshes, there is a 20% chance that a Bonus Pick will be offered in place of a regular set. Selecting a Bonus Pick always costs 0 Wonder Stamina, so these pulls never consume Hourglasses or stamina.

Each Bonus Pick presents five slots. Four of those slots are fixed utility rewards:

  • Event Shop Ticket (Goomy) ×1
  • Event Shop Ticket (Goomy) ×1
  • Wonder Hourglass ×1
  • Wonder Hourglass ×1

The final slot is where the event’s headliners show up. The distribution for the fifth card is:

  • 35% chance of Heliolisk from Crimson Blaze
  • 35% chance of Buneary from Crimson Blaze
  • 15% chance of the Heliolisk promo
  • 15% chance of the Buneary promo

Other descriptions condense Bonus Picks into two option groups that both contain the same four fixed rewards plus one of the two promo cards (PROMO-B-018 or PROMO-B-019). In that framing, Bonus Picks always include at least one promo, with Option 1 having a 30% chance to show and Option 2 a 70% chance. The common thread is that Bonus Picks are free, show up about one in five refreshes, and are a major route to both Event Shop Tickets and the featured Heliolisk/Buneary promos.

Because Bonus Picks are non-stamina pulls that still feed you Wonder Hourglasses and tickets, they are one of the most efficient pieces of the event. Any time you see one, it is worth taking as long as it has not expired.

Chansey Picks: paid promo bundles

Chansey Picks are premium Wonder Pick sets that focus completely on the two event promos. Each Chansey Pick costs 2 Wonder Stamina, which maps to 24 Wonder Hourglasses if you are refilling purely through items. The appearance rate matches Bonus Picks in rarity terms: there is a 2.5% chance that a Chansey Pick will be available each time the Wonder Pick screen refreshes.

Every card in a Chansey Pick is a promo card from the event pool, making these sets a way to rapidly stack copies of PROMO-B-018 and PROMO-B-019. The event uses four possible distributions for the five-card Chansey Pick:

  • 1 Heliolisk promo and 4 Buneary promos
  • 4 Heliolisk promos and 1 Buneary promo
  • 3 Heliolisk promos and 2 Buneary promos
  • 2 Heliolisk promos and 3 Buneary promos

Each of these four layouts has an equal 25% chance of being the one you see when a Chansey Pick appears. Other descriptions simplify this and just treat Chansey Picks as any five-card combination of PROMO-B-018 and PROMO-B-019, but the concrete patterns above show the actual distributions you can get.

Chansey Picks expire after a set time window, typically between 30 minutes and 4 hours. Because of the stamina cost and low appearance rate, they are best saved for players who specifically want playsets of both promos or who are trying to clear promo-focused missions quickly.

Note: Bonus Picks and Chansey Picks can appear at the same time. If that happens, you can take advantage of the free Bonus Pick first and then decide whether the specific Chansey distribution is worth your Wonder Stamina.

Event missions and all rewards

The Heliolisk & Buneary Wonder Pick event comes with a dedicated mission set layered on top of the Wonder Pick mechanics. These missions mainly reward Event Shop Tickets, with a few extra perks such as Shinedust, Trade Tokens, and Promo Card Exchange Tickets.

There are two closely related mission lists that differ slightly in reward counts but follow the same structure. The core missions and their rewards are:

Mission Primary reward
Wonder Pick 1 time Shinedust ×2,000
or 2 Event Shop Tickets (Goomy) and 200 Trade Tokens
Wonder Pick 2 times Event Shop Ticket (Goomy) ×2
Wonder Pick 3 times Event Shop Ticket (Goomy) ×2
Wonder Pick 4 times Event Shop Ticket (Goomy) ×3
Wonder Pick 5 times Event Shop Ticket (Goomy) ×3
and one or more Promo Card Exchange Tickets (1 or 5)
Wonder Pick 6 times Event Shop Ticket (Goomy) ×5
Collect 1 Heliolisk promo card Event Shop Ticket (Goomy) ×1
Collect 1 Buneary promo card Event Shop Ticket (Goomy) ×1
Collect 4–5 Lightning-type cards Event Shop Ticket (Goomy) ×3
Collect 5 Colorless cards Event Shop Ticket (Goomy) ×3
Collect 10 Lightning-type cards Event Shop Ticket (Goomy) ×3
Collect 10 Colorless cards Event Shop Ticket (Goomy) ×3

The exact number of Promo Card Exchange Tickets from the “Wonder Pick 5 times” mission varies across descriptions: some list a single Promo Card Exchange Ticket, others list five. In both cases, that reward is extremely valuable because each Promo Card Exchange Ticket can be traded directly for one of the two event promos.

All of these missions are designed to be completed through normal play during the event window. Simply engaging with Wonder Pick regularly and pulling Lightning and Colorless cards will steadily tick them off, feeding you a large supply of Event Shop Tickets.

Goomy event shop items and ticket costs

The event’s tickets feed into a themed event shop centered on Goomy. This is where all the cosmetic rewards live, alongside another route to pick up the event promos.

Event shop tickets can be spent on the following items:

Item Ticket cost
Goomy Coin 5 tickets
Goomy Card Sleeve 5 tickets
Goomy Cover 3 tickets
Goomy Backdrop 3 tickets
New Year 2026 Backdrop 3 tickets
Goomy Playmat 10 tickets
Goomy Icon 2 tickets
50 Shinedust 1 ticket (up to a limit of 20 in some descriptions)

In addition to this fixed catalog, Promo Card Exchange Tickets can be used in the same shop to redeem either of the two featured promos directly. That gives you a safety net if your Wonder Pick luck is poor: even without pulling many promos from Bonus or Chansey Picks, progression through missions still guarantees at least one copy of a featured card.

The event shop remains open until late January, slightly beyond the final day of Wonder Picks, which gives you a small grace period to convert any last-minute tickets after you finish your last missions.

How to approach the event

Because Wonder Stamina and Wonder Hourglasses are finite, the most efficient play pattern leans heavily on free components while being selective with paid pulls.

Step 1: Log in frequently enough to catch Wonder Pick refreshes, prioritizing any Bonus Picks before they expire. Each Bonus Pick yields two Event Shop Tickets and two Wonder Hourglasses, plus a chance at the promos, making them high-value interactions that cost no stamina.

Step 2: Decide early whether you want multiple playsets of Heliolisk and Buneary promos or just a few copies. If you only care about owning at least one copy of each, rely on Bonus Picks, missions, and Promo Card Exchange Tickets instead of draining your Wonder Stamina on every Chansey Pick that appears.

Step 3: When a Chansey Pick does show up, check the distribution of Heliolisk and Buneary before committing your 2 Wonder Stamina. Use these paid bundles primarily to even out your counts (for example, selecting a 4 Heliolisk / 1 Buneary set when you are short on Heliolisk.)

Step 4: As you complete missions, periodically visit the event shop and prioritize limited cosmetics like the Goomy Playmat or card sleeves if those matter to you more than Shinedust. Leave Shinedust purchases for the end of the event so you can dump any leftover tickets there after you have secured all one-off items.

Step 5: Before the shop closure date, check your mission list one last time to clear any low-effort tasks, then spend every remaining Event Shop Ticket. The event does not carry these over to future campaigns, so holding them past the deadline offers no benefit.

Handled this way, the Heliolisk & Buneary Wonder Pick event becomes a slow, low-pressure grind of free Bonus Picks and mission clears, with Wonder Stamina and Hourglasses reserved for targeted Chansey Picks when you need a specific promo distribution.
