Tubes are your primary exploration tool in Roblox Abyss. Each tube determines how long you can stay underwater, how deep you can dive, and how much fish you can carry back to the surface. Upgrading to better tubes unlocks deeper biomes, rarer fish, and longer fishing runs without drowning.
Quick answer: The Rukiry Tube ($20,500) offers the best mid-game balance of oxygen (180 O2), depth (460m), and weight (200kg). For late-game content, the Ruined Tube (380 O2, 650m depth, 500kg weight) is the strongest option, though its final price is not yet confirmed.
How Tubes Work in Abyss
Tubes control three critical stats. Oxygen determines how long you can explore before drowning—measured in O2 units that deplete continuously outside the starting bubble. Max Depth sets a hard limit on how far down you can swim; exceeding this depth causes instant drowning regardless of remaining oxygen. Weight governs your total carrying capacity for fish and tools. Heavier fish take up more space, so a higher weight stat lets you haul larger catches or multiple rare specimens in one trip.
Every tube also includes a Tube Boost mechanic. Holding Left Shift while swimming dramatically increases your speed, but oxygen drains much faster during the boost. Use it sparingly to cover long distances or escape hostile fish.
All Tubes in Abyss: Stats and Prices
Thirteen tubes are available at launch. Each tube offers progressively stronger stats without unique passive abilities, so choosing the right tube is purely a matter of matching your current depth and oxygen needs to the biome you want to explore.

Where to Buy Each Tube
Most early-game tubes are sold at David's Tubes Shop inside the starting bubble in the Forgotten Deep. The Wooden Tube is given to you for free during the tutorial. The Old Tube, Normal Tube, Fire Tube, and Pufferfish Tube are all available at David's shop once you have enough cash.
The Boat Tube is sold by Marcus, an NPC merchant in the Ancient Sands biome. Marcus also offers quests, so completing his tasks can help you afford the tube faster.
The Zepeline Tube and Plane Tube are both sold by the Diver NPC, who sits atop a sunken submarine in the Forgotten Deep. You must complete the Diver's questline before he will sell you either tube.
The Rukiry Tube is available at Crazy Jeff's Store, located below a massive stone arc in the Ancient Sands region at approximately 230m depth. This tube is the best mid-game option and will carry you safely into late-game content.
The Bath Tube is sold by Bob, who locks his room until you collect all the rubber ducks hidden throughout the ocean. Once you deliver every duck, Bob opens his room and sells the Bath Tube.
The Ruined Tube is sold by the Lightkeeper NPC inside the Angler Cave in the Forgotten Deep. You must complete the Lost Captain questline to unlock the portal door leading to the Angler Cave. This questline is difficult and requires significant preparation, but the Ruined Tube is the strongest option in the game.
The Oxy Tube and NewTube Tube locations are not yet confirmed. Check the official Abyss Discord for updates as the game evolves.
Optimal Tube Progression Path
Efficient tube progression balances oxygen capacity and max depth to unlock new biomes without wasting money on marginal upgrades. The goal is to skip redundant tubes and save cash for the next major jump in stats.
Early game: The Normal Tube ($350) is the first meaningful upgrade. It provides enough oxygen and depth for most early quests around the starting bubble. Skip the Old Tube and Fire Tube entirely—they offer too little improvement to justify the cost.
Early to mid-game: The Pufferfish Tube ($3,500) reaches 180m depth, which covers the Ancient Sands biome starting at 120m. However, Crazy Jeff's Store sits at 230m depth, so you may want to skip the Pufferfish Tube and save for the Zepeline Tube ($18,500) instead. If your progression feels slow, buy the Pufferfish Tube to speed up cash farming in the Ancient Sands, then upgrade to the Rukiry Tube as soon as possible.
Mid-game: The Rukiry Tube ($20,500) is the best mid-game tube by a wide margin. It reaches 460m depth, holds 200kg of fish, and provides 180 O2—enough to explore deep biomes and return safely. This tube will carry you through most of the game's content.
Late-game: The Plane Tube ($86,500) and NewTube Tube ($158,750) are both viable late-game options. The Plane Tube is significantly cheaper and reaches 550m depth, making it the better value. The NewTube Tube offers higher weight capacity (600kg) but lower max depth (370m), so choose based on whether you prioritize depth or carrying capacity.
End-game: The Ruined Tube is the strongest tube in Abyss, with 380 O2, 650m depth, and 500kg weight. The Bath Tube offers slightly higher weight (600kg) but lower oxygen (320 O2). Both tubes currently have placeholder prices of $9,999,999, so wait for the final pricing before deciding which to buy.
How to Equip a New Tube
Buying a tube does not automatically equip it. After purchasing a tube from any vendor, press G to open your backpack. Navigate to the Tubes tab, click the new tube, and press Equip. The new tube replaces your current tube immediately, updating your oxygen, depth, and weight stats.
Tube Boost Mechanics
Every tube includes a Tube Boost that activates when you hold Left Shift while swimming. The boost dramatically increases your movement speed, letting you cover long distances quickly or escape from aggressive fish. However, oxygen drains much faster during the boost, so use it strategically. Activate the boost only when you need to close distance to a fishing spot, return to the bubble before drowning, or flee from a shark attack. Avoid holding the boost continuously—short bursts are more efficient and preserve oxygen for exploration.
Oxygen Management Tips
Oxygen is your most critical resource outside the starting bubble. Running out of oxygen causes instant drowning, and you lose a portion of your cash and all fish in your inventory when you respawn. To avoid drowning, always monitor your oxygen level in the bottom-left corner of the screen. The blue sphere depletes continuously while you are outside the bubble, so plan your route before diving.
Chests scattered around the ocean floor often contain Oxygen Pods. These consumable items instantly replenish a portion of your oxygen when used, letting you extend your dive or return safely to the bubble. Collect every chest you see and keep Oxygen Pods in your quick-use slots for emergencies.
Some Abyss races offer passive abilities that reduce oxygen consumption or prevent drowning under specific conditions. Check your race's passive ability and adjust your playstyle accordingly. For example, if your race grants a second chance after drowning, you can take riskier dives without losing all your progress.
Tube Boost drains oxygen rapidly, so avoid using it unless you have a clear reason. Short bursts are more efficient than holding the boost continuously. If you are low on oxygen and far from the bubble, prioritize swimming straight up rather than boosting horizontally—ascending reduces your depth penalty and slows oxygen drain.
The Wooden Tube is your starting tube and offers minimal oxygen (40 O2) and depth (15m). Upgrade to the Normal Tube as soon as you earn $350 from selling fish. The Normal Tube provides 70 O2 and 50m depth, which is enough to explore the area around the bubble and complete early quests. Do not waste money on the Old Tube or Fire Tube—they offer too little improvement over the Wooden Tube to justify the cost.
