Sunray legendary revolver in Dying Light: The Beast — exact location and safe code
Dying Light: The BeastFind the Sunray in Golden Pine with a short puzzle, a hidden safe, and a three-part code.

The Beast scatters its best guns behind small environmental puzzles. The Sunray — a legendary revolver — is one of the quickest high‑tier pickups if you know which house to enter, where to grab a fuse, and which code to punch into a basement safe.
Sunray (Legendary Revolver) quick reference
Area | Neighborhood | Landmark cues | What you do | Safe code |
---|---|---|---|---|
Northeast map | Golden Pine (Villa Area) | Upper roundabout, two isolated houses; one is a Vanity Store Dark Zone — go to the other house | Loot a bathroom fuse, power the cellar, open the newly unlocked room, then open a hidden-wall safe | 2 – 2 – 19 |
How to get the Sunray revolver (step by step)
Step 1: Travel to Golden Pine in the Villa Area at the northeast of the map. Find the upper of the two roundabouts and head northwest to two isolated houses.

Step 2: Identify the pair: one is marked as a Vanity Store Dark Zone; enter the other house.

Step 3: Inside the house, go to the bathroom. Eliminate the sleeper and loot the body to get a Fuse.

Step 4: Exit to the backyard and open the exterior cellar hatch.

Step 5: In the cellar, replace the blown fuse in the power panel. A nearby door will unlock.

Step 6: Go into the newly opened room. Opposite the table, find a breach in the wall that exposes a small safe.

Step 7: Enter the combination 2 – 2 – 19 to open the safe and claim Sunray.

Note: This pickup doesn’t require night play or extended combat. The only mandatory fight is the bathroom sleeper before you grab the fuse.
Why Sunray is worth the detour

Legendary firearms hit harder than lower‑rarity versions and are scarce early on. Sunray’s short, self‑contained puzzle makes it a reliable first legendary gun for players leaning into ranged combat, and it complements other early legendaries on the map without a major difficulty spike.
Ammo for revolvers and ways to keep it stocked
- Military convoys respawn loot on a cadence. Sweep convoys every few missions, loot the uniformed Biter for the access card, and clear side compartments for extra rounds.
- Vendors refresh inventories periodically. When you pass through Town Hall or Exiles’ Cave, buy out revolver ammo and crafting materials to stay ahead of demand.
- In missions against the Baron’s men, check the faction’s weapon crates and nearby tables, and loot armed enemies — both can yield ammunition.
There’s no one‑hour “infinite ammo” farm; plan on periodic loops through convoys and merchants to maintain a buffer for set‑piece fights.

Weapon | Type | Acquisition summary |
---|---|---|
The Elite | Pistol | On the red bridge between the Monastery and Mountain Shelter: power a container via generator and cable, use a keycard from a nearby infected to open the reward container. |
The Needle | SMG | Unmarked Mountain Reserve Ranger Station northeast of the Mountain Shelter Tower: start generator, run a cable to open the garage, fend off virals, then lockpick a back room. |
The Eraser | Auto rifle | Southeast of the Farms Tower Safe Spot: start a shed generator, route a power cable to ruins, drop through a hatch, move shelving to access vents, and chain cables to power interior panels. |
The Statement | Shotgun | Pembroke (B7–B8): crawl a vent into a tools shed, start a generator, run a cable to the adjacent building’s panel, open the garage, and pick it up from the workbench. |
If you prefer blades: the Strauss & Broda machete sits inside a rooftop shed in the Industrial Zone — knock repeatedly on the wall cabinet until it opens — while EXPCalibur II requires placing eight Sigil Stones at a rock formation southeast of the Monastery before you can pull it free.
What to know about weapon ranks, mods, and durability
- Weapons roll across ranks — Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary — with legendaries delivering higher baseline damage and special perks.
- Mods slotting depends on the item; many melee weapons support up to two mods plus one cosmetic charm. Ranged weapons require ammunition and may not mirror melee mod support.
- Some legendary items cannot be repaired. Others provide blueprints so you can craft replacements later. Treat unique legendaries with limited durability as encounter tools rather than everyday beaters.
If the safe won’t open or the room stays locked
- Re‑check that you looted the bathroom body inside the house — the Sunray route depends on replacing that fuse, not a random spare.
- Ensure the fuse was installed in the cellar panel; the target door won’t unlock until power is restored.
- For the safe, verify the input order precisely: 2, then 2, then 19. If you mis‑enter, back out and re‑enter the three parts cleanly.
The Beast hides some of its strongest firearms behind light wiring jobs and tucked‑away safes. Sunray is the cleanest of the bunch: a single house, a single fuse, and one short code get you a revolver that carries early fights — and encourages a return trip for the rifle, SMG, shotgun, and pistol puzzles waiting nearby.
