When Exactly Does REANIMAL Launch? Every Time Zone Covered

Reanimal, the next horror adventure from the original creators of Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares II, launches on Friday, February 13, 2026, as a simultaneous worldwide release. Developed by Tarsier Studios and published by THQ Nordic, the game hits PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store — all at the same moment, regardless of platform.

Quick answer: Reanimal unlocks at 9:00 AM ET / 6:00 AM PT / 2:00 PM GMT on February 13, 2026. In eastern Asia and Oceania, that translates to the early hours of February 14.

Release time: February 13, 2026 at 2:00 PM UTC

Reanimal Global Launch Times by Region

THQ Nordic opted for a synchronized global launch rather than a staggered, region-by-region rollout. That means no one gets early access by switching storefronts or time zones — everyone enters the island at the same instant. The trade-off is that some regions will be playing at less-than-ideal hours.

If you're in South Korea or Japan, the calendar will technically read February 14 by the time the game goes live. The developers have jokingly acknowledged the Friday the 13th launch date, saying they chose it to "ruin Valentine's Day."

Platforms and No Last-Gen Support

Reanimal is a current-gen-only title. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store. There is no PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or original Nintendo Switch version. Physical editions, including a Collector's Edition, will be available at retail on launch day.

The game runs on Unreal Engine 5 and targets 4K resolution at 60 FPS on consoles. The PC version takes particular advantage of high-end lighting to sell the claustrophobic atmosphere of the island's forests and decaying structures.

What Reanimal Actually Is

Reanimal is a cinematic horror adventure built around stealth, environmental puzzles, and a persistent sense of dread. You play as a brother and sister stranded on a fragmented island overrun by mutated creatures, searching for missing friends while uncovering a dark secret. Unlike the largely linear corridors of Little Nightmares, Reanimal opens up exploration — you travel between landmasses by boat, with each location holding its own piece of the story.

The biggest structural change from Tarsier's earlier work is full co-op support. Every puzzle is designed for two players working together, and the game can be played in local split-screen, online co-op, or solo with an AI-controlled partner. A Friend's Pass feature means only one player needs to own the game for both to play together. The shared, directed camera is designed to maximize tension and claustrophobia even when two people are on screen.

While Reanimal is an entirely new IP — the Little Nightmares franchise stayed with Bandai Namco — it retains Tarsier's signature small-characters-in-a-giant-world perspective. The aesthetic, however, has shifted from the whimsical, doll-like look of Little Nightmares toward something more grounded, gritty, and visceral.

The "Shoreline" Demo

A free demo called "The Shoreline" is available right now on Steam. It covers roughly the first 30 minutes of the game, letting you explore the Mill and Trainyard areas and face the first boss encounter with the "Sheep Mother." Completing the demo earns a "Sibling's Keepsake" charm, a cosmetic item that carries over to the full game and can be equipped on your character's backpack.

Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses

Reanimal launches in three editions. Pre-ordering any version unlocks the Foxhead and Muttonhead Masks, a pair of wearable in-game cosmetics.

EditionPriceContents
Standard$39.99Base game + pre-order masks
Deluxe$59.99Base game + Season Pass (three DLC chapters) + digital artbook + soundtrack
Collector's$129.99Physical box with PVC statues, art book, map poster, keychain, stickers, and exclusive packaging

The Deluxe Edition is currently discounted by 10 percent as a pre-purchase promotion on Steam, dropping it to $53.99 until launch day. The Season Pass included in the Deluxe Edition covers all three planned DLC chapters.

Reanimal arrives at an interesting moment — Little Nightmares 3 shipped in 2025 under a different developer, and many fans of the original games have been waiting specifically for Tarsier's next project. With co-op baked in from the start, a Friend's Pass lowering the barrier to entry, and a $39.99 price point, it's positioned as a more accessible but no less unsettling follow-up to the studio's earlier work. Three days to go.
