Where to find an ENELICA building in Arc Raiders’ Paving the Way quest

Paving the Way in Arc Raiders sounds straightforward until it tells you to head for “any ENELICA building” and never marks one on your map. The quest then moves on to a specific apartment block in Buried City, again with only a loose description. The friction here is not combat, it is navigation.

The quest has two clean halves:

  • Visit an ENELICA building and read a researcher’s note.
  • Travel to Buried City, reach the top of a Piazza Roma apartment block, and pull data from the researcher’s flat.

The most reliable way to do this is to split it into two raids and use one of the easiest ENELICA locations on Dam Battlegrounds.

ENELICA buildings in Arc Raiders (quest context)

ENELICA is a name stamped onto a small set of industrial and utility buildings scattered across several maps. For Paving the Way, any of these structures is valid for the first objective. They’re present on:

  • Dam Battlegrounds
  • Buried City
  • Blue Gate

You do not need to extract any physical item during this quest. The game simply tracks whether you have interacted with a specific notice board and later a terminal. That means you can bring a free loadout and focus on movement and survival instead of loot.

How to complete the ENELICA objective on Dam Battlegrounds

The cleanest option for the first half of Paving the Way is Dam Battlegrounds, because the Water Treatment Control building is both easy to identify and used in other quests. It also has extraction close by, so you can reset quickly after finishing the ENELICA step.

Step 1: Load into Dam Battlegrounds and move toward the Water Treatment Control complex. This location is a large facility built into the dam area and is already used for the A Toxic Trail quest, so it should be familiar once you’ve been there once.

Step 2: Approach Water Treatment Control from the main southern side. Look for the facade with “ENELICA” clearly written on the wall near the main doors. If you do not see the branding, circle the building until you reach this marked side; the quest objective only updates when you are near the correct entrance.

Step 3: Once the ENELICA nameplate is in view and the quest updates to mention the researcher’s note, look just to the right of the main entrance. There is a notice board mounted on the wall here. Walk up and interact with it to read the researcher’s note and fulfill the “search for a notice board with a note from the researcher” objective.

Step 4: After interacting with the notice board, the Dam Battlegrounds portion is complete. Head for the nearby Water Treatment elevator extraction point and leave the raid to set up for the Buried City half of the quest.

Tip: Other ENELICA buildings exist, including standalone towers near maintenance bunkers and extractions on Blue Gate, but Water Treatment Control is consistent and tied to other quests, which makes it the most efficient target if you are planning your runs.

How to reach the researcher’s flat in Buried City (Piazza Roma)

The second half of Paving the Way takes place on Buried City and references “the top floor above the Convinio in Piazza Roma.” The important detail is not the Convinio itself but the pair of large apartment buildings at Piazza Roma, one of which contains the researcher’s flat on its upper levels.

Step 1: Load into the Buried City map and set your objective on Piazza Roma. On the map, find the metro station at Piazza Roma and then identify the large apartment blocks just west or southwest of that entrance. These tall buildings with interconnected rooftops are your target.

Step 2: Move into Piazza Roma and approach the chosen apartment building. Use the lift ziplines or interior stairwells to climb. The goal is to reach the very top rooftop of the two connected buildings. Expect resistance from Fireballs, Pops, and often a rocketeer that patrols or overlooks this rooftop; clear or avoid them before you commit to the final climb.

Step 3: When you reach the upper rooftop, note that there are effectively two levels of roof connected by scrap structures, with a small rooftop garden or similar clutter at the highest point. From the higher of the two rooftops, drop down to the slightly lower roof that sits alongside it.

Step 4: On this lower roof, look for a makeshift scrap bridge leading back into the upper levels of the building. Cross this scrap bridge and pass through the doorway into the interior; this path leads directly toward the floor that houses the researcher’s flat.

Step 5: Move straight through the first interior room you enter and continue into the next one, staying on this top residential floor. In the southeasternmost room on this level you will find a cluster of computer consoles. One of these terminals is highlighted as the researcher’s device.

Step 6: Interact with the yellow-marked console to retrieve the researcher’s data. This completes the “find the researcher's flat and search for any research data” objective and resolves Paving the Way. Once you are done, you can extract from Buried City and return to Esperanza to turn the quest in.

Paving the Way quest rewards

After delivering the data back in Esperanza, Paving the Way grants a small but notable package of rewards. You receive:

  • Raider Hatch Key for opening Raider Hatches in future raids.
  • Seeker Grenade x3 for targeted explosive utility.
  • Advanced Electrical Components x1, a higher-tier crafting material.

Because the quest pays out a Raider Hatch Key and does not demand any risky extraction of physical loot, it’s worth prioritizing early in a progression line. The Dam Battlegrounds → Buried City two-raid approach keeps the routing simple: hit Water Treatment Control for the ENELICA notice board, extract, then climb Piazza Roma once for the researcher’s flat.
