Wuthering Waves 3.0 server maintenance times and downtime explained

Wuthering Waves Version 3.0, “We Who See the Stars,” arrives with a full server maintenance window and several hours of downtime. The update is large and replaces the live client, so logging in will be impossible while the work is underway.

Wuthering Waves 3.0 maintenance start and end time

The Version 3.0 maintenance is scheduled for a single global window using the Asia server time zone.

Region baseline Start time End time Time zone Duration
Asia server (official) Dec 25, 2025 – 04:00 Dec 25, 2025 – 11:00 UTC+8 7 hours

During this period, game servers are offline and logins are blocked. Once maintenance finishes, Version 3.0 goes live immediately; no separate launch window is planned.

Maintenance may end earlier than the estimated 7 hours, but players should plan around the full window.

Maintenance time by major region and time zone

The UTC+8 schedule lands on December 24 in the Americas and straddles the night of December 24–25 in Europe. Here is how the same maintenance window maps to several common time zones.

Region Local date Start time End time Notes
Pacific Time (PT) Dec 24, 2025 12:00 PM 7:00 PM Standard time listing
Mountain Time (MT) Dec 24, 2025 1:00 PM 8:00 PM Standard time listing
Central Time (CT) Dec 24, 2025 2:00 PM 9:00 PM Standard time listing
Eastern Time (ET) Dec 24, 2025 3:00 PM 10:00 PM Standard time listing
Western Europe Dec 24–25, 2025 8:00 PM (Dec 24) 3:00 AM (Dec 25) WET baseline
Central Europe Dec 24–25, 2025 9:00 PM (Dec 24) 4:00 AM (Dec 25) CET baseline
Eastern Europe Dec 24–25, 2025 10:00 PM (Dec 24) 5:00 AM (Dec 25) EET baseline
India Dec 25, 2025 1:30 AM 8:30 AM IST (UTC+5:30)
Philippines Dec 25, 2025 4:00 AM 11:00 AM Same as UTC+8
Japan Dec 25, 2025 5:00 AM 12:00 PM JST (UTC+9)
South Korea Dec 25, 2025 5:00 AM 12:00 PM KST (UTC+9)
North America (alt view) Dec 24, 2025 1:00 PM (PDT) 8:00 PM (PDT) Daylight-offset framing
US East (alt view) Dec 24–25, 2025 4:00 PM (EDT) 12:00 AM (Dec 25, EDT) Daylight-offset framing
Central Europe (alt view) Dec 24–25, 2025 10:00 PM (UTC+2) 5:00 AM (UTC+2) Daylight-offset framing

These ranges all describe the same underlying maintenance window anchored at 04:00–11:00 (UTC+8). The “alt view” rows simply express it using daylight-offset labels that some regional communities prefer.

Official maintenance notice and connectivity

The development team announced the patch under the title “Wuthering Waves Version 3.0 Update Maintenance Notice” and confirmed that the work supports the rollout of “We Who See the Stars”. During maintenance:

  • Game servers are unavailable and all login attempts fail.
  • Matchmaking, co-op, and any online interactions are suspended.
  • Client updates are required before logging back in once servers reopen.

The update is described as large, and the team recommends installing it over a Wi‑Fi connection on mobile to avoid unnecessary mobile data usage.

For the full official wording and any last-minute adjustments, the notice is available on the Wuthering Waves site at the maintenance news page (https://wutheringwaves.kurogames.com/en/main/news/detail/3800).

Compensation and eligibility requirements

Maintenance compensation for Version 3.0 is straightforward:

Reward Quantity Delivery method
Astrite 300 In-game mail
Crystal Solvent 2 In-game mail

To receive these items, your account must meet a simple eligibility condition:

  • A character must exist on the account, and the Mail feature must be unlocked before 04:00 (UTC+8) on December 25, 2025.

Compensation is sent directly to the in-game mailbox and remains claimable until the next version update. If the maintenance window is extended, the team has committed to issuing a follow-up notice and increasing the rewards accordingly.

Version 3.0 preload timing

Ahead of maintenance, preload helps spread out download demand so you’re not pulling the entire patch during the downtime. Version 3.0 preload is expected to open on December 23, 2025 at 10:00 (UTC+8).

Preload is available on both the dedicated PC launcher and mobile clients. That means:

  • PC players can update through the launcher before servers go offline.
  • Mobile players can download assets from the update prompt without waiting for the maintenance window.

Note: Preload updates the client files but does not bypass maintenance. You still will not be able to log in until servers reopen on December 25, 2025 at around 11:00 (UTC+8).

What to finish before the servers go down

Because the downtime runs across prime evening hours in the Americas and overnight in Europe, it can easily collide with routine farming or event runs. To avoid missing out, it is worth clearing a few tasks in advance.

Daily and weekly activities. Anything that relies on the daily reset or a limited-time event timer should be finished before the maintenance start in your region. That includes dailies, energy-spending activities, and event stages that end with Version 2.8.

Co-op or group sessions. If you usually play with friends, schedule sessions around the maintenance block so nobody is dropped mid-run.

Gacha plans. Version 2.8 banners end shortly before the maintenance window, so any last pulls on that lineup need to happen ahead of time.

New content arriving with Wuthering Waves 3.0

Maintenance is essentially the doorway into a sizable content drop. Version 3.0, “We Who See the Stars,” brings additions across characters, weapons, explorable space, and systems.

New Resonators. Two Resonators enter the roster:

  • Lynae – Spectro element, uses Pistols.
  • Mornye – Fusion element, wields a Broadblade.

New weapons. Several weapons accompany 3.0’s banners, covering multiple weapon types:

  • Spectrum Blaster (Pistols)
  • Starfield Calibrator (Broadblade)
  • Laser Shearer (Sword)
  • Radiance Cleaver (Broadblade)
  • Phasic Homogenizer (Pistols)
  • Pulsation Bracer (Gauntlets)
  • Boson Astrolabe (Rectifier)

Lahai-Roi region. A new area, Lahai-Roi, opens up for exploration, bringing its own enemies, Echoes, quests, and collectibles.

Echoes and Sonata effects. Version 3.0 expands the Echo roster with creatures and constructs like Hyvatia, Reactor Husk, multiple Twin Nova forms, Flora and Mining Reindeer, Ironhoof, Sabercat variants, coleoids, drones, Geospider S4, Zip Zap, and Tremor Warrior. To support new builds, three 5‑piece Sonata Effects are introduced:

  • Pact of Neonlight Leap
  • Halo of Starry Radiance
  • Rite of Gilded Revelation

Main story. The main questline moves into Chapter III, with a Prologue plus Act I and Act II added to the story timeline.

New system features. Several quality-of-combat and quality-of-life features come online:

  • Off-Tune combat mechanic, which adds a new layer to battle decision-making.
  • Expedition Motorbike utility, giving players another way to traverse and engage with the world.
  • WavesLine Terminal messaging feature, expanding in-game communication and narrative surface.

Alongside these headliners, Version 3.0 includes a run of time-limited events, interface tweaks, and other gameplay optimizations that roll out as part of the post-maintenance environment.

Planning around the 04:00–11:00 (UTC+8) maintenance window, preloading on your platforms of choice, and meeting the mailbox eligibility condition are the key steps to make sure you log in on December 25 with the new update ready and the Astrite and Crystal Solvent rewards waiting in your inbox.
