2XKO Champion Tokens — every free and paid way to get them
2XKOEarn two quick tokens from early missions or stock up via Starter Editions; here’s how unlocking works and what it costs.

Champion Tokens are the fastest way to expand your online roster in 2XKO. Each token unlocks a full Champion bundle, and there are a couple of quick ways to get a few for free before you consider paying for more.
What Champion Tokens do
Champion Tokens unlock a playable Champion for online modes. Spending one token grants the Champion plus a small bundle of cosmetics (a chroma and a taunt). Tokens sit alongside two other currencies:
- KO Points: premium currency purchased with real money; used for cosmetics, premium Battle Pass tracks, and more.
- Credits: earned by playing and completing milestones; can unlock Champions and other cosmetics. Note: accounts have a 12,000 Credit cap—spend before you hit the limit to avoid losing earnings.

Get free Champion Tokens (fast)
You can secure two tokens early without spending money:
- Complete the First Steps missions (Progression tab → View All Missions, then switch to the second page). Finishing all simple onboarding objectives awards 1 Champion Token.

- Finish the “First Fight” tutorial (Learn tab). Completing this tutorial awards 1 Champion Token.

These two tasks are short and intended for new players, so they’re the quickest way to unlock your first Champions for online play.
Buy more via Starter Editions (time-limited)
Starter Edition bundles are a straightforward way to stock up on tokens while also collecting cosmetics and KO Points. Multiple bundles are offered and include either 4 or 8 Champion Tokens. These Starter Editions are scheduled to remain available through December 2026.
If you’re planning to unlock several Champions now—and want KO Points for skins or a premium Battle Pass—these bundles are the most direct option.

Unlock champions without tokens
You don’t have to use tokens. Every currently locked Champion can also be unlocked with:
- 10,000 Credits (earned from playing and mission progress), or
- 1,000 KO Points (premium currency).
To unlock: open the Champions tab, select a locked character, then press Unlock. If you use a token, you’ll receive the Champion bundle (Champion + chroma + taunt). If you spend Credits or KO Points, you’ll unlock the Champion for play online.

New season champions and the three‑week window
Each season introduces a new Champion. For the first three weeks of that season, the new addition is available through:
- 1,000 KO Points, or
- 1 Champion Token, or
- Ultra Battle Pass purchase for that season.
After the three‑week window, the new Champion also becomes unlockable with 10,000 Credits (in addition to KO Points or a token). Seasonal timing means you can save a token for a future drop if you prefer.

Which champions are locked right now
At Early Access launch, five Champions require unlocking for online play: Blitzcrank, Jinx, Teemo, Vi, and Warwick. Patch lineups can shift as seasons roll, but you can always verify who’s locked on the Champions tab.
