Pulse Combo is 2XKO’s one‑button combo assist: repeatedly pressing Light, Medium, or Heavy will string together a complete sequence, often with a flashy finisher. It’s great for learning or jumping in quickly, but it can also burn your meter at the wrong time and block you from practicing tighter routes. Here’s how to switch it on or off, plus when you should consider leaving it disabled.

Turn Pulse Combo off from the lobby (Settings path)

Make sure you’re in the lobby (not in a match), then:

  • Open the gear‑icon Settings tab in the top menu.
  • Select Controls.
  • Highlight Pulse Combo (it’s the first option) and tap left/right to switch On or Off.

There’s no confirmation prompt—the change applies immediately. You can flip it back at any time.

Toggle Pulse Combo on champion select

Pulse Combo is also a per‑player toggle available during champion select. If you prefer to decide on a match‑by‑match basis, set it there before you queue into the round. This lets you keep it off for serious play, then turn it back on when pairing with newer players or testing a new character.

When you should turn Pulse Combo off

  • Meter discipline: Pulse finishers frequently spend Super meter. If your string is blocked, you’ve traded bar for no damage. Disabling Pulse gives you full control over when to cash out.
  • Unblocking advanced routes: Certain sequences (for example, pressing two quick lights in a row) can get auto‑converted into a special, breaking the chain you intended. With Pulse off, your inputs do exactly what you plan.
  • Reducing predictability: Autocombo routes are consistent by design, which makes them easier to scout and counter. Turning Pulse off encourages varied pressure, safer confirms, and better adaptations.
Tip: Head to Training after disabling Pulse and record a few safe confirms that don’t spend bar on block. Build muscle memory around those routes so they’re ready under pressure.

Quick reference: where to change the setting

Location How to change Scope Confirmation needed
Lobby → Settings → Controls Select “Pulse Combo” and tap left/right to toggle On/Off Applies immediately to your play No
Champion select Use the Pulse Combo toggle before the match starts Per‑player choice for that setup No

Pulse Combo is a smart way to learn spacing and confirms without memorizing long inputs, but you’ll get better meter management, freer routing, and less predictable offense with it off. Use the lobby toggle when you want a global change, or flip it during character select when you’re swapping between casual play and practice.
