2XKO ranked mode — tiers, RP, placements, and how to climb
2XKOA clear look at ranks from Aspirant to Challenger, rematches, duo rules, and what actually moves your RP.

2XKO’s ranked ladder is built to feel familiar if you’ve touched other Riot games, with fighting game twists that reward adaptation and teamwork. Here’s how the system works in Early Access, what unlocks ranked, how promotions and safety nets behave, and what to expect if you duo or rematch.
Unlock ranked (and where to install)
- Ranked unlocks at Account Level 3.
- Your first five ranked games are placements that set your initial rank.
- Leaving a ranked match (placements included) counts as a loss.

All 2XKO ranks and tier structure
The ladder spans ten core ranks, with Challenger on top. Most ranks have three tiers.
Rank | Tiers | Notes |
---|---|---|
Aspirant | I, II, III | Entry point for new ranked players |
Iron | I, II, III | Three tiers per rank |
Bronze | I, II, III | Three tiers per rank |
Silver | I, II, III | Three tiers per rank |
Gold | I, II, III | Three tiers per rank |
Platinum | I, II, III | Three tiers per rank |
Emerald | I, II, III | Three tiers per rank |
Diamond | I, II, III | Three tiers per rank |
Master | I, II, III | Three tiers per rank |
Grandmaster | — | No tiers; climbs by RP |
Challenger | — | Grandmaster players with 500+ RP who also sit in roughly the top 100 on the ranked leaderboard |
Ranked Points (RP), promotions, and demotions
- Win a ranked match to earn RP; reach 100 RP in your current tier to move up.
- Each tier requires 100 RP to clear.
- When you fill Tier III’s 100 RP, you’re promoted to Tier I of the next rank and carry over any excess RP.
Example: If you’re Gold III at 93 RP and gain 10 RP from a win, you appear in Platinum I with 3 RP.
Demotion protection works like a one-game cushion:
- If a loss would push you below 0 RP, you drop to 0 RP in your current tier instead of immediately demoting.
- A subsequent loss at 0 RP demotes you to the next lower tier and typically places you at 90 RP there.
- You can be demoted to a lower tier but not to a lower rank. If you’re in Gold III with 0 RP, continued losses won’t push you into Silver.
RP gains and losses aren’t fixed; they fluctuate based on how you’re performing and who you’re matched against. Streaks can push swings higher.

Placements and built‑in rematches
- Five placement matches set your starting rank. Once placed, the matchmaker seats you with similarly ranked players.
- Every ranked encounter is at least one game, with an optional best‑of‑three rematch flow if both sides opt in.
- Between games in a set, you can adjust and counterpick champions.
The rematch structure mirrors competitive play: take game one on your strongest team, then pivot on games two and three as you learn the opponent.

Duo queue rules (and what it means for RP)
- You can duo with friends of any rank, including at the top of the ladder.
- Expect tougher lobbies when there’s a large rank gap; RP gains may be reduced to prevent boosting.
- Because 2XKO is a tag fighter, consistent partners who coordinate assists, swaps, and setplay can translate practice directly into ranked wins.
Seasons, resets, and rewards
- Ranked progress runs in seasons.
- When a season ends, ranked progress is reset.
- Seasonal ranked rewards are tied to where you finish.

Early Closed Beta meta snapshot (subject to change)
Every champion on the current roster can win games, but early testing surfaced a rough pecking order before ranked launched in the beta.
- S‑tier: Yasuo, Ekko, Jinx
- A‑tier: Vi, Blitzcrank
- B‑tier: Ahri, Darius, Illaoi
- C‑tier: Braum
Expect volatility as more players enter ranked and tech develops. Corner pressure, reliable setups, and team compositions that cover weak matchups tend to rise quickly.

If you’re jumping in for the first time, hit Level 3, finish placements, and embrace the rematch flow. The RP system rewards consistency over time, while duos and counterpicks reward preparation in the moment.
