2XKO is a free-to-play tag fighter built around League of Legends champions. To jumpstart collections at launch, Riot is selling limited-time Starter Editions in three tiers that bundle champion unlocks and cosmetics. Here’s what each bundle includes, how long they’re available, and how they fit into the game’s broader unlock systems.

How Champion Tokens, KO Points, and Credits work

2XKO uses three unlock paths for champions during and after seasonal launches. Starter Editions plug directly into these systems by granting Champion Tokens and KO Points.

System What it is When it applies How it’s used
Champion Token An item that unlocks one champion Anytime; valid during new champion windows Redeem to permanently unlock a champion
KO Points Premium currency Anytime; including first 3 weeks of a season Spend to unlock champions and buy cosmetics/bundles
Credits In-game currency (non-premium) After the first 3 weeks of a season Spend to unlock champions after the early-season window
Battle Pass XP (Recruitment Event) Seasonal progression Available starting in Season 1 Redeem during Recruitment Events to unlock the season’s new champion for free
  • Season launch window (first three weeks): the new champion can be unlocked with 1,000 KO Points, one Champion Token, or by purchasing the Ultra Battle Pass bundle. A Recruitment Event can also unlock the new champion by redeeming Battle Pass XP; this event begins in Season 1 and is not part of Season 0.
  • After three weeks: the new champion can be unlocked with 10,000 Credits, 1,000 KO Points, or one Champion Token.
Tip: You receive Champion Tokens from multiple places. New players get one for finishing the First Fight tutorial and another by progressing through new “First Steps” missions. Starter Editions add 4–8 more, depending on the tier.

What each Starter Edition is good for

All three editions accelerate early champion access; the differences are about how many immediate unlocks you want and how much you value Arcane cosmetics.

  • If you only care about playable characters: the Standard bundle’s 4 Champion Tokens let you pick up multiple mains now or bank tokens for a seasonal drop. Tokens are flexible and bypass early-season currency requirements.
  • If you want a mix of unlocks and a standout animation: Deluxe adds the Arcane finisher, triples the avatar clothing sets, and doubles Token count to 8. That’s a sizable head start on the roster.
  • If Arcane cosmetics are the draw: Ultra folds in three Arcane skins, all their chromas, and an Arcane sticker set on top of everything in Deluxe and Standard. Within the Starter Edition window, this is the direct path to those skins and their variants.

Because Starter Editions include KO Points, each tier also seeds your account for premium cosmetics or upcoming seasonal bundles. The exact KO Points beyond Standard’s 2,000 are not fixed in the patch notes, only that Deluxe and Ultra include “additional KO Points.”

Season 0 additions that affect value

Season 0 introduces two champions and a Battle Pass with a free track. These elements matter if you’re weighing a Starter Edition for near-term unlocks.

  • New champions: Teemo deploys traps and projectiles to control space. Warwick uses a unique Bloodlust gauge to unlock special moves and cancels. Visit the in-game Champions tab to unlock them.
  • Battle Pass (free track): includes the Rift Quest Teemo skin, a set of avatar clothing, three stickers, a player card, a player title, and a finisher.
Note: If you participated in the Closed Beta, the “Closed Beta Boss” player title is granted at Early Access start. It can take up to a week to appear and will show in the Collection tab under Cards and Titles. There’s no in-game notification.

Limited-time Mega Bundles and timing

Beyond the Starter Editions, Season 0 features rotating Mega Bundles that package higher-tier skins and other cosmetics. You can buy skin sets within these bundles individually, or pick up the full bundle to unlock bonus content. Each bundle and its components may return through other means later. These will be purchasable with KO Points later in Season 0.

Bundle Featured champions Start date Notes
Crime City Mega Bundle Jinx, Darius, Braum Nov 4 Limited-time availability; components may be sold separately later
Aureate Mega Bundle Warwick, Vi, Darius Dec 2 Limited-time availability; components may be sold separately later
Snow Moon Mega Bundle Ahri, Warwick, Illaoi Dec 23 Limited-time availability; components may be sold separately later

Bottom line

If your goal is to expand the playable roster quickly, the Token counts are the clearest differentiator: 4 in Standard and 8 in Deluxe (and therefore Ultra). If Arcane cosmetics matter, Ultra is the only Starter Edition tier that includes skins and chromas themed to Arcane, alongside every unlock from the lower tiers. If you’re new, claim the tutorial and First Steps Token first, then decide which bundle—if any—fills the gaps you still care about before the Starter Edition window closes.
