The Haunted Maze arrives with the Hedge Maze update during the Halloween event. It spawns adjacent to the Carnival Games area somewhere in the forest, and its exact position isn’t marked on the map. Expect it to be near the carnival grounds when they appear in your world.
Unlock the Haunted Maze (Carnival Tickets required)
The gate stays locked until you collect three Carnival Tickets. The Carnival Games area shows up as early as Day 1, but the games themselves become playable after you reach Day 3.
Earn one ticket from each of the three games by meeting the score thresholds below:

What to bring into the maze
- Bandages: you’ll take chip damage from enemies and need quick heals.
- Weapons: you’ll encounter Wolves along the route and an Alpha Wolf at the center.
- Food or stews: you’ll spend time exploring dead ends for loot; plan for hunger drain.
Fastest navigation route (right-hand rule)
Once inside, keep your right hand on the wall and follow it. In this layout, the right-hand rule consistently pulls you to the center without mapping or guesswork. You’ll see red arrows on some walls; treat most of them as decoys and stick with the wall-following route.
Dead ends aren’t a waste: they often hide loot chests.
Enemies, hazards, and how to handle them
- Wolves: appear along the corridors. You can either clear them as you go or sprint past and reset aggro around corners.
- Alpha Wolf: stationed at the center beside the coffin. Clear it to safely claim rewards.
- Deer: only shows up in the maze at night. Entering during the day avoids this entirely.
Carry at least one reliable melee option for stagger and a backup heal to stabilize after the center fight.
Loot, side stops, and the exit
- Chests: found at many blind ends, typically containing 4–6 Candies.
- Costume booth: somewhere along the path, letting you pick a Halloween costume.
- Coffin reward: at the center, hold
Eto open the coffin and claim a free weapon. Possible drops include items like the Scythe or Bouncing Blade. - Exit hatch: a wooden hatch sits behind the coffin; interact with it to leave the maze immediately.
Quick checklist
- Reach Day 3 so the Carnival Games are playable.
- Earn three tickets: 3 points in Ring Toss, 3 in Basketball, 5 in Shooting.
- Return to the Haunted Maze gate; it unlocks with all tickets collected.
- Before entering, stock bandages, a solid weapon, and enough food.
- Enter during daytime to avoid Deer inside.
- Follow the right-hand wall; ignore red arrows.
- Loot chests in dead ends for Candies; visit the costume booth if you want a new look.
- At the center, defeat the Alpha Wolf, then hold E on the coffin for your weapon.
- Use the wooden hatch behind the coffin to exit quickly.
The maze is short once you commit to the right-hand route. Run it with a friend or two to split aggro and safely farm candies and the center reward; once you’ve got your weapon, use the hatch to bail and set up for your next night.
