DOOM: The Dark Ages – Revelations (July 7)

The first major expansion for DOOM: The Dark Ages arrives July 7 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Revelations continues the Slayer’s story before his resurrection, sending him through a frozen purgatory and a betrayal that left him wounded. It adds new levels with deeper puzzles, new demons, and the Chain Spear weapon, plus a mode with fresh maps and rewards.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced (July 9)

Ubisoft’s full remake of the 2013 pirate classic lands July 9 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Built on the latest Anvil Engine, Resynced runs with ray tracing, improved lighting and water, and a seamless open world with no loading screens. The campaign keeps the Caribbean stealth-and-parkour setup but redesigns missions, removes the original instant-fail moments, and adds new story content and expanded character interactions.

Note: The remake drops the Freedom Cry DLC to keep the focus on Edward, and it carries zero code from the original release.

EA Sports College Football 27 (July 9)

EA’s college football series returns July 9 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. This year’s edition adds over 20 new defensive playbooks, improved catching, deeper Team Builder customization, customizable stadiums and audio, dynamic weather, and a new Coach Mode for running a team from the sidelines. Pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition grants three days of early access.

Palworld 1.0 full release (July 10)

After roughly two years in early access, Palworld leaves early access and hits Version 1.0 on July 10 across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. The full build is set to include the planned gameplay systems, additional content, performance improvements, and quality-of-life changes. Pocketpair has signaled that post-launch support continues after 1.0.

RPGs and creature collectors: Digimon, Granblue, Echoes of Aincrad

July 9 and 10 form a tight cluster for role-playing fans. Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok (July 9) adds a new story arc, more playable characters, and fresh endgame activities on PC, PS5, PS4, and Switch 2. Digimon Story: Time Stranger (July 10) brings turn-based creature collecting to Switch 2 and Switch, while Echoes of Aincrad (July 10) is a Sword Art Online souls-like on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S featuring Kirito, Asuna, and customizable builds.

Square Enix brings Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster to Switch 2 on July 23. The port carries Tidus and Yuna’s story to newer Nintendo hardware with improved visuals and quality-of-life additions. July 23 is also a strong day for Switch 2 owners thanks to Splatoon Raiders.

Halo: Campaign Evolved (July 28)

Microsoft is rebuilding the original Halo: Combat Evolved from the ground up, and Halo: Campaign Evolved launches July 28 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It’s a campaign-focused release built on Unreal Engine 5, with remade visuals, new motion-captured cutscenes, re-recorded voice lines, and three new prequel missions. New mechanics include sprinting, vehicle hijacking, an expanded weapon set, and up to four-player online co-op.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (July 30)

Nintendo closes out the month on July 30 with a Switch 2 version of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. The JRPG was already on the original Switch, and this enhanced edition brings it to the newer hardware with technical improvements for fans who wanted a Switch 2 port.

Indies and smaller launches worth tracking

Action and horror picks include the Hades-style roguelike Ascend to Zero (July 13) and the Lovecraftian co-op game The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu (July 15).

  • Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game (July 2) — hand-drawn 1v1 fighter on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Rhythm Heaven Groove (July 2) — the series’ first new entry in over a decade, on Switch, with a demo available.
  • Backyard Baseball (July 9) — a PC revival with four modes, 11 remastered stadiums, 24 teams, and 30 characters.
  • Denshattack! (July 15) — a stylish train-hopping action game on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2.
