All Sunna materials for promotion, skills, core skills, and W-Engine in Zenless Zone Zero

Sunna is an S Rank Physical Support agent in Zenless Zone Zero whose upgrade path is built around Support promotion materials, Physical skill chips, and two late‑game boss drops. Having her entire material curve mapped out makes it much easier to plan Battery and Denny before committing to her banner.

Quick answer: To completely finish Sunna (level 60 promotion, all skills, core skills A→F, and S Rank W‑Engine 60), you need 4 Basic Support Certification Seals, 32 Advanced Support Certification Seals, 30 Ruler Certification Seals, 25 Basic Physical Chips, 75 Advanced Physical Chips, 250 Specialized Physical Chips, 9 Clouded Crystalline Substances, 60 Higher Dimensional Data: Bloodstained Miasma Feathers, 5 Hamster Cage Passes, 30 Specialized Support Components, 32 Reinforced Support Components, 4 Support Components, 150 Ether Plating Agents, and 3,337,000 Denny for her plus 400,000 Denny for the S Rank W‑Engine, on top of any Drive Disc enhancement costs.

Sunna promotion (ascension) materials to level 60

Promotion raises Sunna’s level caps. She uses the standard Support‑type Certification Seals and a single Denny pool.

Promotion band Support materials Denny
Lv 10 → 20 Basic Support Certification Seal ×4 24,000
Lv 20 → 30 Advanced Support Certification Seal ×12 56,000
Lv 30 → 40 Advanced Support Certification Seal ×20 120,000
Lv 40 → 50 Ruler Certification Seal ×10 200,000
Lv 50 → 60 Ruler Certification Seal ×20 400,000
Total Basic ×4, Advanced ×32, Ruler ×30 800,000

All three Certification Seal tiers drop from the Agent Promotion mode of Combat Simulation against the Bulky Intimidator enemy card.

Step 1: Go to the HIA Club and start a Combat Simulation on the Agent Promotion mode, then select the Bulky Intimidator enemy card.

Step 2: Add between one and five Enemy Cards to scale difficulty and rewards; each card costs 20 Battery, up to 100 Battery at five cards.

Step 3: Clear the stage and claim Support Certification Seals; higher card counts give more Advanced and Ruler Seals per run.

You know you have everything for promotion when your inventory shows at least 4 Basic, 32 Advanced, and 30 Ruler Certification Seals, and 800,000 Denny reserved for Sunna.

Sunna basic skill level materials (per skill)

Each of Sunna’s Basic Attack, Dodge, Special Attack, Chain Attack, and Assist skills shares the same Physical Chip curve. These levels are separate from core skills A–F.

Skill level Physical Chips Denny (per level)
Lv 1 → 2 Basic Physical Chip ×2 2,000
Lv 2 → 3 Basic Physical Chip ×3 3,000
Lv 3 → 4 Advanced Physical Chip ×2 6,000
Lv 4 → 5 Advanced Physical Chip ×3 9,000
Lv 5 → 6 Advanced Physical Chip ×4 12,000
Lv 6 → 7 Advanced Physical Chip ×6 18,000
Lv 7 → 8 Specialized Physical Chip ×5 45,000
Lv 8 → 9 Specialized Physical Chip ×8 67,500
Lv 9 → 10 Specialized Physical Chip ×10 90,500
Lv 10 → 11 Specialized Physical Chip ×12 112,500
Lv 11 → 12 Specialized Physical Chip ×15, Hamster Cage Pass ×1 135,500

Maxing a single skill from level 1 to 12 uses:

Per-skill total Amount
Basic Physical Chip 5
Advanced Physical Chip 15
Specialized Physical Chip 50
Hamster Cage Pass 1
Denny ~501,000

Maxing all five basic skills needs:

All basic skills total Amount
Basic Physical Chip 25
Advanced Physical Chip 75
Specialized Physical Chip 250
Hamster Cage Pass 5
Denny 2,505,000

Physical Chips come from the Agent Skill mode of Combat Simulation against the Bulky Enforcer enemy card.

Step 1: At the HIA Club, start Combat Simulation and choose the Agent Skill mode, then pick Bulky Enforcer as the enemy card.

Step 2: Again, add one to five Enemy Cards; each card costs 20 Battery and increases the chip payout.

Step 3: After a clear, check rewards for Basic, Advanced, and Specialized Physical Chips until you reach 25/75/250 for Sunna’s complete skill set.

The Hamster Cage Pass is the choke point. It comes in very small quantities from the New Eridu City Fund battle pass and limited‑time events, so spending five passes to cap all of Sunna’s skills is a significant commitment.

Sunna core skill materials (A–F)

Core Skills A–F are Sunna’s deeper passives and consume a different pool of materials, including weekly boss drops. Raising her from A to F uses the following:

Core skill tier Clouded Crystalline Substance Higher Dimensional Data: Bloodstained Miasma Feather Denny
A 5,000
B 2 12,000
C 4 28,000
D 2 9 60,000
E 3 15 100,000
F 4 30 200,000
A → F total 9 60 405,000

Both boss drops are tightly controlled by weekly or Battery limits.

Clouded Crystalline Substance source

Clouded Crystalline Substance drops from the Notorious Hunt boss Ye Shiyuan The Thrall at Scott Outpost.

Step 1: Travel to Scott Outpost and start a Notorious Hunt against Ye Shiyuan The Thrall.

Step 2: Clear the boss to earn one Clouded Crystalline Substance for each reward claim.

Step 3: Take advantage of the three free weekly rewards; once those are spent, enable Pursuit to the Depths to keep claiming by paying 60 Battery per extra reward.

You need nine Clouded Crystalline Substances in total for Sunna’s core skills, so three full weeks of free rewards cover the entire requirement if you focus on that boss.

Higher Dimensional Data: Bloodstained Miasma Feather source

Higher Dimensional Data: Bloodstained Miasma Feather comes from the Expert Challenge boss Sacrifice – Covenant Guardian at the HIA Club.

Step 1: At the HIA Club, open Expert Challenge and choose Sacrifice – Covenant Guardian as the target boss.

Step 2: Start a run; each clear costs 40 Battery in the standard mode.

Step 3: For patches where Burnout Mode is active on this boss, you can pay 80 Battery for double rewards in a single clear.

Each clear yields five Bloodstained Miasma Feathers. Sunna needs 60 to go from core skill A to F, so 12 standard runs (or six Burnout clears) are enough.

Sunna S Rank W-Engine materials

Sunna’s S Rank W‑Engine uses Support‑type components. The per‑level costs follow the standard S Rank weapon curve.

W‑Engine level band Support materials Denny
Lv 10 → 20 Support Component ×4 12,000
Lv 20 → 30 Reinforced Support Component ×12 28,000
Lv 30 → 40 Reinforced Support Component ×20 60,000
Lv 40 → 50 Specialized Support Component ×10 100,000
Lv 50 → 60 Specialized Support Component ×20 200,000
Total Support ×4, Reinforced ×32, Specialized ×30 400,000

The same totals also apply as a reference for her “signature W‑Engine” material planning. All three Support Component tiers come from the W‑Engine Modification mode of Combat Simulation against the Heavy Gunner enemy card.

Step 1: At the HIA Club, start Combat Simulation on W‑Engine Modification and select the Heavy Gunner enemy card.

Step 2: Add one to five Enemy Cards, spending 20 Battery per card up to 100 Battery at five cards.

Step 3: Clear the run and collect Support Component, Reinforced Support Component, and Specialized Support Component drops until you reach at least 4/32/30 for Sunna’s S Rank W‑Engine.

Drive Disc upgrade materials for a full Sunna set

Drive Discs do not use Sunna‑specific items, but their costs are predictable and can be prefarmed alongside her other materials. A typical assumption for fully upgrading six S Rank Drive Discs is:

Drive Disc upgrade scope Ether Plating Agent Denny
One Disc 25 72,000
Six Discs 150 432,000

Ether Plating Agents come from several sources, but Combat Simulation and Routine Cleanup are the most efficient.

Step 1: Use Combat Simulation or Routine Cleanup stages that feature Ionized – Cyrtoidea, Patrol Jaeger, or Vicious Striker, which drop Ether Plating Agents.

Step 2: Spend up to 100 Battery in cards per run; this typically yields about 20–25 Ether Plating Agents.

Step 3: Plan on roughly 600–800 Battery to reach the 150 Ether Plating Agents needed for six S Rank Discs for Sunna.

Once your inventory holds the Promotion Seals, Physical Chips, boss drops, Support Components, and Ether Plating Agents in the amounts listed above, you can take Sunna all the way to level 60, cap every skill and core skill, and finish both her weapon and Drive Disc set without hitting any unexpected bottlenecks.
