Sorcerer Ascent features seven distinct weapons, each obtained through different methods ranging from boss defeats to dungeon clears. Unlike many RPGs, these weapons don't carry unique stats—they all provide identical damage boosts to your basic attacks and heavy moves. This means your choice comes down entirely to playstyle preference and which obtainment method suits you best.
Quick answer: The easiest weapon to get early is the Hammer, which comes automatically when you unlock the Straw Doll Cursed Technique. For faster progression, grind the Town Warden boss for the Cursed Tanto (30% drop rate).
Hammer
The Hammer arrives without any grinding required. Simply obtain the Straw Doll Cursed Technique through the game's gacha roll system, and the weapon unlocks automatically. Since this is RNG-dependent, timing varies by player. One important caveat: the Hammer doesn't work with the Ratio Cursed Technique, so if you plan to use that ability later, you'll need to acquire a different weapon.

Cursed Tanto
The Cursed Tanto drops from the Town Warden boss at Hotarugawa Town with a 30% success rate. This makes it one of the most farmable weapons in the game. Once you have it, you can immediately use the Ratio Cursed Technique to accelerate your progression through higher-level content and unlock rarer weapons more efficiently.

Pole
Clear the Hotarugawa Dungeon to obtain the Pole. This is the first major dungeon you'll encounter during natural progression, making it accessible relatively early. The Pole drops as a reward for completion, so you don't need to worry about drop rates here.

Slaughter Demon
Defeat the Yuji Itadori boss at Jujutsu High to earn the Slaughter Demon. The weapon has a 10% drop chance per boss kill, so expect to run this encounter multiple times. Yuji Itadori spawns at level 35+, so come prepared with appropriate gear and abilities.

Ratio Cleaver
The Ratio Cleaver comes from the Nanami Kento boss, also at Jujutsu High. With only a 4% drop rate, this is one of the rarest weapons to obtain. Despite the low odds, you don't strictly need this weapon to use the Ratio Cursed Technique—any other weapon works equally well for that ability's moveset.

Glaive
Clear the Kanazawa Dungeon to get the Glaive. This is the second major dungeon in the game's natural progression path, recommended for level 60+. Like the Pole, the Glaive is a guaranteed reward for dungeon completion rather than a random drop.

Ryoma Katana
The Ryoma Katana is the only Special-grade weapon available and requires completing the Temple Challenge at level 80+. This is the most demanding weapon to unlock in terms of character level and challenge difficulty. The reward justifies the effort if you want the rarest gear in the game.

Kusakabe Katana
A second katana option, the Kusakabe Katana, also comes from the Temple Challenge and carries Glorious rarity. It's available at much lower levels than the Ryoma Katana, making it a solid mid-game alternative if you want katana-style combat without waiting until level 80.

Weapon Choice and Black Flash
Since all weapons provide identical damage scaling, your selection depends purely on which obtainment path you prefer and aesthetic preference. You can freely switch between weapons without penalty. If you're pursuing Black Flash, the advanced combat technique, you can unlock it using either your fists or any equipped weapon—no specific weapon is required.
