The Amazon Fire TV Remote app for iPhone and iPad devices is receiving a big update on the App Store. Firstly, Amazon has dropped “Remote” from the app’s name, and it is now just called “Amazon Fire TV”. Secondly, the app adds support for Fire TV Recast DVR which is launching in the US tomorrow.

“The Amazon Fire TV mobile app includes updates to enable the set-up, playback, and recording of live over-the-air programs via Fire TV Recast (US customers only).”

For the unaware, Fire TV Recast is a DVR which lets users watch and record over-the-air TV at home or on-the-go with a Fire TV, Echo Show, or mobile devices via the updated “Amazon Fire TV” app.

Fire TV Recast is releasing tomorrow in the US. The device will be sold in a 500 GB and 1 TB variant for $230 and $280, respectively.

The updated Amazon Fire TV app version 2.0 is available to download for free on the App Store.
