Anime Paradox Tier List – Best Meta Units for DPS and Support (January 2026)

Anime Paradox launched with a roster of units spanning multiple rarities, from Mythics to ultra-rare Secrets and Paradox units. Building an effective team requires understanding which characters dominate the current meta and how their passives interact with each other. The game's tower defense mechanics differ from typical lane-based designs, with your base positioned at the center of the map while enemies spawn in a circle around it. This layout makes support units and healers far more valuable than in other Roblox tower defense games.

Quick answer: Zid (Atomic) and Storrk (Resurreccion) are the strongest DPS units in the release meta, while Idol (Pop) and Oreheme (Sacred) lead the support category. For farming, Sprintcart or Bulla are essential in every team composition.

S+ Tier DPS Units – Meta Defining

The absolute top of the damage hierarchy belongs to two units that can carry entire runs with minimal support. Storrk (Resurreccion) is a Banner Paradox unit with the highest health, damage, and range in the game. His attacks chase down enemies across the entire map rather than hitting in a fixed area. The Metralleta ability functions as a nuke that deletes waves and chunks massive HP from bosses. His Number One passive grants overwhelming buffs when placed away from other friendly units, turning him into a dedicated solo carry. The EVO version adds Howl of Ruin, which doubles the number of summoned wolves.

Zid (Atomic) is a Banner Secret that hits the entire map once upgraded to All Range Atomic. He combines massive full-area damage with exceptional tankiness, making him one of the most reliable carries for any content. Both units require significant investment to reach their full potential, but reward that investment with unmatched performance.

S Tier DPS Units – Excellent Scaling

Sun Jin Wu (Monarch) is a Raid Act 3 Secret with exceptional scaling through his Level Up passive. Every kill grants stacking damage, cooldown reduction, lifesteal, and an increased execute threshold. His Monarch's Will provides a massive damage and CDR self-buff when his HP drops low, along with lifesteal that scales in longer modes. He excels in Infinite mode where fights extend long enough for his stacks to accumulate. Pairing him with Igrus doubles his stacking speed.

Igrus (Elite Knight) is a Siege Shop Secret that stacks damage on kills for up to 100% bonus damage through his Undead Commander passive. He deals heavy Bleed damage and has self-healing. When placed alongside Sun Jin Wu, Igrus gains bonus damage and cooldown reduction. He also deals more damage to enemies above 40% HP, softening targets for Sun Jin Wu's execute. Without Sun Jin Wu, Igrus still receives a damage reduction buff, making him viable independently.

Ichuga (Vasto Lorde) is a Legend Stage Hollow Act 3 Secret that functions as a solo carry. His attacks apply massive Bleed damage on hit, and his self-buff provides both damage amplification and healing every 15 seconds. This self-sustain makes him exceptionally tanky, though a dedicated healer remains necessary for harder content. He can reach 10,000 to 20,000 DPS, depending on buff and bleed uptime, but gets outscaled by Sun Jin Wu and Igrus in extended fights.

A Tier DPS Units – Strong and Reliable

UnitRarityKey StrengthsLimitations
Brolu (Super)Banner MythicExcellent AOE, stacks damage on kills, Unstable Power doubles buffs at 25 stacks30-second cooldown on Unstable Power, no utility
Kirrua (Godspeed)Banner MythicStuns on attack, marks enemies for bonus damage, high attack speed scalingLower base damage before buffs stack
Sky (Enhanced)Battle Pass Level 25Gains stacks on hit and when hit, massive damage/CDR buff at max stacks, threshold decreases each cycleRequires healer support due to self-damage stacking
Freezo (Full Power)Banner MythicStrong AOE damage with Burn application, flat 60% damage bonusLong cooldowns on self-buff and AOE burst

Brolu requires setup time but becomes a powerhouse once Legendary Rage stacks reach the Unstable Power threshold. Kirrua functions as a DPS/Support hybrid with his stun and damage mark, making him valuable even before his Godspeed buff activates. Sky shines in longer modes like Infinite, where his Limit Resonance passive cuts stacking requirements in half.

B Tier DPS Units – Situational Picks

Eryu (Antithesis) has solid passives including Energy Manipulation for range and damage buffs, plus Antithesis for boss-killing potential. However, he suffered from multiple nerfs and has weak wave-clearing capabilities. Seth (One-Winged) doubles up on skills every 16 seconds for burst damage but relies on being at low HP without having lifesteal, making him heavily dependent on healers. Melio (Wrath) deals strong damage-over-time through Cursed Flame but lacks meaningful utility. Itochi (Eternal Flame) has consistent buffs and a Crow Escape survival passive, but the escape rarely triggers in optimized play.

D Tier DPS Units – Early Game Only

Ciel (Super) is the best beginner unit due to easy EVO requirements and decent stacking mechanics through Perfect Evolution. He self-heals and buffs speed at max stacks, but falls off as better Mythics and Secrets become available. Megomun (Explosion) has massive burst damage and strong early wave-clearing, but suffers from extremely long cooldowns that hurt late-game value. Chae-In (Light) has okay DPS for the first 20 seconds of each wave due to Speed of Light, but becomes virtually useless afterward with no scaling or team utility.

S+ Tier Support Units – Essential for Every Team

Idol (Pop) is a Banner Mythic with an AOE heal that also buffs damage and attack cooldowns for units in range. Her Hype Overdrive passive provides the best combined sustain and damage support in the game. The EVO version adds Encore, which extends buff duration on any buffed unit that gets a kill, effectively making Hype Overdrive permanent. Place her after your DPS units are established rather than as a starter.

Oreheme (Sacred) is the strongest pure healer. Her Shun Shun Rikka passive provides both healing and protection, while Sacred Support delivers reliable team healing. Any overheal converts into a 30% damage buff for the overhealed unit, ensuring nothing goes to waste. She excels when raw sustain matters more than offensive buffs.

Sprintcart is an Epic rarity farm unit that remains mandatory in every team composition. No team can scale properly without a dedicated farm unit generating resources. Bulla is a Legendary alternative that functions as the best farming unit in the game, though you cannot run both simultaneously.

S Tier Support Units – High Utility

Ulquiarro (Murcielago) is a Banner Mythic that applies Fear every 8 kills, reducing enemy movement speed by 40% in an AOE. His High Speed Regeneration passive heals him when hitting enemies with Fear and when above 80% HP, granting a damage buff. He leans toward Support but deals respectable damage. Shadow Vampire is an AFK Chamber Exclusive with a global Time Stop ability that completely freezes all enemies. The utility is exceptional, though he contributes little else to DPS or healing. Kirrua (Godspeed) appears in both DPS and Support tiers due to his stun-on-attack and damage mark providing excellent crowd control alongside his damage output.

A Tier Support Units – Niche but Valuable

Steel (Shadow) is a Banner Mythic tank that draws enemy attention and stalls them while shielding and buffing allies. His Protector passive neutralizes two enemy hits on all allies every 20 seconds, and Guardian Sight protects squishy frontliners. He fits specific team compositions but is not universally required. Asto (Devil) offers unique anti-shield utility through Anti-Magic Flow and the best debuffing ability via Null Slash. However, he is highly situational and was nerfed significantly, making him a tech pick rather than a staple.

Team Building Fundamentals

Every team needs at least one support unit, one farm unit, and the remaining slots filled with DPS. Unlike other tower defense games, enemies deal chip damage to your units every wave, making healers essential for harder modes rather than optional. Idol or Oreheme should occupy your healer slot in most compositions. Sprintcart or Bulla handles farming. The remaining slots go to your strongest DPS units, prioritizing those with scaling potential for longer modes.

For Infinite mode specifically, Sun Jin Wu paired with Igrus creates the strongest scaling combination. Sun Jin Wu's kill-based stacking accelerates when Igrus is present, and both units benefit from extended fights. Ichuga works as a standalone carry when you lack the Sun Jin Wu and Igrus pairing. Storrk and Zid dominate any content where their map-wide coverage can be leveraged.

Gem and Material Farming

Farming Infinite mode and resetting on Wave 6 yields 50 gems approximately every 1 minute and 20 seconds. Story Mode Nightmare provides account EXP, unit EXP, food, gems, and gold in a single grind. For EVO materials, purchase Essences from the Merchant using gold every hour, complete Challenges, or craft other Essences using Green Essence. The Ichigo Legend Stage offers gems, gold, EXP, food, and Green Essence with a 2% chance to obtain Ichigo at around 4 minutes and 20 seconds completion time.

The developers have confirmed balance updates will follow community feedback, so expect tier placements to shift as patches roll out. Focus resources on units with strong fundamentals and scaling potential rather than chasing whatever is temporarily overtuned.
