Arc Raiders cat bed locations — where to look and what to expect

If you’re trying to level up Scrappy in Arc Raiders, you’ll eventually need a Cat Bed. It’s a small “trinket”-tier loot item that spawns in everyday buildings rather than military sites, and it’s easy to miss unless you know how the spawn logic works. Here’s where to search, how to sweep those areas efficiently, and what to bring so you don’t risk your best gear.

Cat Bed spawn rules and item details

Cat Beds spawn in Commercial and Residential zones. In practice, that means shops, markets, apartments, and houses—places with shelves and everyday storage rather than high-security facilities.

  • Primary spawn surfaces: shop shelving and displays in Commercial buildings; also possible in containers, cabinets, and lockers in Residential areas.
  • Rarity and type: Uncommon trinket.
  • Inventory details: weight 0.5 kg; stacks to 3; sell value 1,000.
  • Use: required for a Scrappy upgrade (some in-game references list it at level 3, others at level 4). Either way, you’ll need one.
Tip: When you enter a shop, sweep every aisle and scan low shelves. Players often loot obvious containers but leave small trinkets on open shelving.

Best places to find Cat Beds (Buried City)

Buried City concentrates Commercial and Residential loot into tight clusters, making it the best map to deliberately hunt Cat Beds—if you can handle the pressure. Focus your run around these adjacent areas:

  • Plaza Rosa (Commercial)
  • Main Street (Commercial)
  • Santa Maria Houses (Residential)
  • Piazza Arbutso (Commercial)

Work building to building and prioritize anything with shop signage or aisles of shelving. In Residential pockets, open every cabinet, closet, and locker. The south and southeastern portions of the city pack a high density of buildings, which helps if you want to string together multiple interiors without crossing open streets.

Expect heavy AI patrols and constant player traffic. The compact layout means you’ll hear fighting nearly everywhere, and the square around Santa Maria Houses can even host a Bastion. If you’re running this purely for a Cat Bed, consider bringing a free loadout and avoid unnecessary engagements—you don’t want to lose tuned kits over a one-slot trinket.

If you’re also stocking Scrappy’s other ingredients, grab prickly pears from the cacti south of the city while you’re here. Olives are more reliable in Blue Gate.

Alternative routes (Blue Gate and Dam Battlegrounds)

Blue Gate — Village

The Village in Blue Gate is a strong option thanks to its many apartment blocks. Multiple interiors mean lots of small containers and surface spawns, and Cat Beds show up here frequently. Blue Gate, however, plays like an endgame zone with tougher ARC enemies. If you’re not geared for the pressure, stick to quick building sweeps and avoid extended fights. A free loadout is a safe call if you’re just trinket-farming.

Dam Battlegrounds — Pale Apartments and Ruby Residence

Up in the northwestern corner, this cluster of apartments lacks a big named point of interest, so loot density can feel inconsistent. The tradeoff: it’s often quieter, with fewer players and less ARC pressure roaming through. If you prefer to avoid conflict, these buildings can be a lower-stress way to roll the dice on a Cat Bed, especially by methodically clearing every floor and container.

Quick reference: where to look and how to sweep

Map Area Zone type What to search Notes
Buried City Plaza Rosa Commercial Shop aisles, open shelves Dense interiors; high player traffic
Buried City Main Street Commercial Retail shelves, back-room racks Chain multiple stores in one sweep
Buried City Santa Maria Houses Residential Cabinets, lockers, end tables Area can host a Bastion; move fast
Buried City Piazza Arbutso Commercial Store interiors, counters, shelves Close to other targets; efficient routing
Blue Gate Village Residential Apartments, closets, kitchen storage Frequent finds; tougher ARC presence
Dam Battlegrounds Pale Apartments Residential Room-by-room, all containers Quieter but inconsistent loot density
Dam Battlegrounds Ruby Residence Residential Dressers, cabinets, lockers Low conflict; thorough sweeps pay off

Route planning and risk management

Cat Beds are an Uncommon item that shows up often enough if you’re checking the right surfaces. The bigger variable is risk: Buried City delivers the best density but can spiral into fights fast, while Dam Battlegrounds trades consistency for calmer runs. Blue Gate’s Village is strong for apartment-heavy farming but demands more firepower and attention.

  • Travel light for dedicated farm runs. A free loadout lets you disengage and extract without worrying about sunk costs.
  • Favor interiors over streets. Most spawns you want are inside; don’t waste time crossing open ground if you can chain adjacent buildings.
  • Listen for gunfire, then route around it. Your goal is shelves and drawers, not winning the block.

If a run comes up empty

Sometimes you’ll drop into a session and find shelves already bare. Don’t chase sunk time. If the loop you planned is picked clean, extract and queue again rather than pivoting into long cross-map treks. These items are common enough that a fresh instance usually beats grinding a looted route.

Keep your upgrade momentum

Once a Cat Bed is secured, keep moving down Scrappy’s shopping list. Prickly pears grow in the cactus patches south of Buried City, and olives are a reliable grab in Blue Gate. Rolling those pickups into the same or subsequent runs will shorten the gap between Scrappy upgrade tiers—regardless of whether your Cat Bed gates level three or level four in your build.
