The Eyes in the Sky quest asks you to install LiDAR scanners at three specific high points across Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, and Buried City. The task sounds item‑gated, but it isn’t: you don’t have to find or carry a LiDAR Scanner in your inventory for these objectives. Reach the correct spot, stand on the interaction prompt, and your raider will install the device automatically.

These installs can be done in any order and across separate runs. When all three are placed, the quest completes.

Dam Battlegrounds — Control Tower install

  • Enter Dam Battlegrounds and make your way to the Control Tower building. It’s positioned to the west of the Water Treatment Control station.
  • Climb to the roof. Walk to the outer corner until the interaction prompt appears.
  • Activate the prompt to place the scanner.
Note: If the button doesn’t trigger, inch to the absolute edge of the roof or try approaching from a different side. The interaction can be height/position sensitive.

Spaceport — Communications Tower install

  • Head to the Communications Tower on the far eastern edge of Spaceport. Look for the tall, brown tower adjacent to the Container Storage building.
  • Climb the ladder toward the top. On the upper platform or near the tower’s upper edge, the install prompt will appear.
  • Use the prompt to install the scanner. If you don’t see it immediately, climb to the highest reachable spot on the tower and re‑position.

Buried City — Galleria sign install

  • Find the Galleria in Buried City. It’s between the Hospital and the Space Travel station.
  • Get onto the Galleria roof and set up a zipline to the tall tower above the Galleria sign. You’ll need a proper anchor line to make the crossing safely.
  • Ride the zipline, then step onto the top platform until the prompt appears to place the scanner.
Tip: Place the zipline at a shallow angle with a clean landing zone on the tower. A line that’s too steep can throw you off or miss the platform.

You don’t need to carry a LiDAR Scanner item

For Eyes in the Sky, the game supplies and installs the device at the correct spot automatically. Don’t burn time searching your stash or Spaceport for a physical LiDAR Scanner for these objectives.

Where LiDAR scanners show up in other quests

Separate quests may ask you to find actual LiDAR scanners. The most consistent pickup spot is Control Tower A6 on Spaceport: head upstairs and check the container‑style cubicle behind metal barriers. Similar sensors can also turn up in security or technical areas and inside equipment lockers on maps like the Spaceport and Dam Battlegrounds.

Troubleshooting the install prompt

  • If no prompt appears, climb higher. The trigger is often at the highest lip of the structure.
  • Shuffle along the edge or corners; even small position changes can activate the interaction zone.
  • On Buried City, verify you can physically stand on the target platform after the zipline ride; re‑anchor if you overshoot.

Once all three installs are done, Eyes in the Sky wraps immediately. If you’re working through multiple objectives on the same maps, it’s efficient to route past these towers during other runs and tick them off as you go.
