ARC Raiders: find mushrooms and pillows for Scrappy’s final upgrade

Mushrooms are easy to overlook and rarely sit in the open. The most reliable place to farm them is on the Dam Battlegrounds map, inside and just outside the Hydroponic Dome complex. Start by sweeping the Dome’s interior — look along the edges of the stagnant pools and any debris sitting in the water. If nothing spawns inside, pivot to the exterior perimeter; the same mushroom nodes often shift between the Dome’s interior and the ground immediately outside.

Beyond the Dome, scan fallen tree trunks in the Dam Battlegrounds area. Mushrooms often grow directly on wood — either clinging to upright trunks or on logs lying on the ground. Move slowly and pan your camera at trunk height; caps can blend into bark and can be missed if you only check the ground.

Mushroom spawn behavior, map conditions, and other locations

Mushroom spawns on Dam Battlegrounds typically rotate between two fixed positions at the Hydroponic Dome: one inside in the water, and one just outside. If you clear one and revisit later, expect the node to flip to the other position.

You’re not limited to a single map. Mushrooms can also appear on other biomes such as The Blue Gate, but spawns there are less predictable. If you’re seeing thin supplies across the world, watch for the “Lush Blooms” world condition on the map selection screen. When that modifier is active, natural resources like fruit and mushrooms are far more common in the wild terrain, which makes for quicker runs between nodes.

Where to find Comfortable and Very Comfortable Pillows

Pillows are simpler to locate but tend to be spread out, so expect some room-to-room searching. Check residential interiors: houses, apartments, and lived-in buildings across all maps. Buried City is a good bet thanks to its dense housing blocks, but any region with intact homes can yield finds. Open doors, scan beds and sofas, and clear multiple buildings in a loop until you have what you need. For Scrappy’s upgrade, you specifically want the Very Comfortable Pillow variant.

Use mushrooms and pillows to upgrade Scrappy (level five)

The final Scrappy upgrade has a fixed shopping list. Gather the following before you start the training step:

Material Quantity Notes
Mushroom 12 Farm on Dam Battlegrounds (Hydroponic Dome and nearby tree trunks)
Very Comfortable Pillow 3 Search residential interiors; Buried City is a reliable sweep
Apricot 12 Also required earlier for Scrappy; have these ready for the final training

Once you have all materials in your inventory — 12 Mushrooms, three Very Comfortable Pillows, and 12 Apricots — proceed with Scrappy’s training to unlock level five.

Mushroom item stats (healing and inventory)

Mushrooms aren’t just upgrade fodder; they’re also a fast emergency heal you can carry while you farm. Here are the in-game stats:

Property Value
Type Nature (Uncommon)
Healing 15
Use time 1s
Stack size 10
Weight 0.2 kg
Sell price 1000

Tip: carry a partial stack while you route the Hydroponic Dome and nearby logs — it’s a quick top-up between encounters and frees space as you use them.

Route the Hydroponic Dome first for predictable mushrooms, detour to nearby fallen trunks, then pivot to residential sweeps for pillows — especially in Buried City. If the world rolls “Lush Blooms,” take advantage and stock up; you’ll finish Scrappy’s level five list much faster.
