Why Rocketeer Drivers matter (Explosives Station upgrade)
Rocketeer Drivers are required to push the Explosives Station from level 2 to level 3. That upgrade unlocks stronger explosive options for late‑tier ARC fights.
| Upgrade | From | To | Total cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Explosives Station | Level 2 | Level 3 | 3× Laboratory Reagents, 5× Explosive Compound, 3× Rocketeer Driver |
Fastest method: farm the Husk Graveyard event
If you want Drivers without a boss fight, wait for the Husk Graveyard event. During this map modifier, downed ARC units (Husks) spawn across the zone and can be breached for intact components, including Rocketeer Drivers.
- Where to run it: Dam Battlegrounds (Swamp/Old Battlegrounds route), Spaceport (south side routes), and Blue Gate all see dense Husks during this event.
- What to look for: large, grounded Rocketeer Husks. Approach and interact to breach the top panel.
- Mind the trap: Breaching can trigger a brief electric pulse that stuns. Step back or dodge after starting the breach to avoid the stun window.
- Loot reality: Driver drops are not guaranteed. Open multiple Husks per run.
- Protect the haul: place Drivers in your Safe Pocket as you find them, then extract and re‑queue to repeat.
With a clean route and a bit of luck, you can collect the three Drivers you need in a couple of event runs while also stockpiling other ARC parts.
Standard method: take down a Rocketeer safely
Rocketeers patrol every map and dominate open spaces with long‑range missile barrages. Expect four yellow aiming lasers that switch to red just before firing 1–4 missiles; two hits can drop a lightly shielded Raider. They often fly with Wasps and Hornets.
- Pick the arena: fight from inside solid buildings or behind substantial cover. Elevation with shooting angles (windows) helps a lot.
- Break the lock: when the targeting lasers disappear (full lock‑on), dodge roll or get hard cover to avoid the incoming salvo.
- Focus weak points: target the thrusters. Destroying two can force a fall; if it drops from high enough, impact can finish the job.
- Bring the right kit: Wolfpack grenades, the Hullcracker Launcher, and long‑range heavy ammo (Ferro/Anvil) make this fight shorter. In squads, crossfire from different angles staggers its focus.
- Loot smart: check the main debris first; both main and small debris can contain a Rocketeer Driver.
What a Rocketeer Driver converts into
Drivers can be broken down two different ways. Choose based on what your hideout needs most.
| Action | Input | Output |
|---|---|---|
| Recycle | 1× Rocketeer Driver | 2× Advanced Electrical Components, 3× ARC Alloy |
| Salvage | 1× Rocketeer Driver | 2× ARC Circuitry |
Inventory and cashflow tips
- Drivers weigh 1 and stack to 3; plan Safe Pocket space accordingly during event runs.
- Extras sell for 5,000 Raider Credits each, so continued Husk Graveyard routing can double as a money farm after your Explosives Station upgrade.
If you just need the upgrade, prioritize Husk Graveyard routes on Dam Battlegrounds or Spaceport and bank Drivers in your Safe Pocket as you go. If the event isn’t up, fight Rocketeers on your terms: cover, dodge timing, thruster focus, and heavy ordnance keep you in control. Either way, three Drivers is the threshold to unlock Level 3 explosives and make tougher ARC hunts more manageable.
