ARC Raiders safe pockets: increase slots and keep loot on death

Death wipes most of your haul in ARC Raiders, but Safe Pockets give you a small, guaranteed way out for crucial items. With the right Augment setup, you can start with one Safe Pocket and grow to two or even three slots, making more of your loot persist even if you don’t make it to extraction.

Safe Pockets in ARC Raiders (what they do and key limits)

Safe Pockets are dedicated inventory slots that auto-extract their contents if you die. Each slot holds either a single item or one stack of the same item. Weapons can’t be placed in Safe Pockets, so you’re choosing between things like blueprints and valuable materials rather than guns.

Safe Pockets only appear when you’re running an Augment loadout. Using a Free Loadout removes access to Safe Pockets entirely.

Enable your first Safe Pocket (equip any non-Free Augment)

Step 1: Equip any Augment that is not the Free Loadout. This enables one Safe Pocket slot in your raid inventory.

Step 2: Queue into a raid and open your inventory to confirm the Safe Pocket panel is visible. You now have one guaranteed extraction slot for an item or stack.

Get more Safe Pockets (2–3 total slots)

Step 1: Obtain the Looting MK.2 Augment. You can find it during raids or buy it from Trader Lance at the Clinic.

Step 2: Equip Looting MK.2 to raise your Safe Pocket count from one to two. You’ll see two dedicated slots in your inventory on your next raid.

Step 3: Seek out the Epic version of the Looting MK.2 Augment. Equipping the Epic version increases your total Safe Pocket slots to three.

Use Safe Pockets during raids (move and prioritize items)

Step 1: On keyboard and mouse, drag and drop an item or stack into an available Safe Pocket slot. This marks it for guaranteed extraction if you die.

Step 2: On a controller, highlight the item, press the action button, and choose “Move to Safe Pocket.” The item moves into a protected slot.

Step 3: Prioritize blueprints for your Safe Pocket. Once learned, a blueprint permanently unlocks crafting for that item, offering long-term value beyond a single stack of materials.

Step 4: Fill remaining Safe Pocket slots with high-value materials or rare items that are costly to lose. Remember that weapons can’t be stored in Safe Pockets.

What happens on death or extraction

If you die before extracting, every Safe Pocket item is automatically extracted to your stash. All other gear and carried loot are lost. If you extract successfully, you keep both Safe Pocket items and normal inventory items as usual.

Expand your Safe Pockets early and treat them as insurance for your best finds—especially blueprints. It’s a simple setup that pays off every time a run goes sideways.
