Fireball is a ground-based ARC machine variant — one of the hostile automata roaming topside. When challenges or quests ask you to “destroy Fireballs,” they are referring to eliminating this specific enemy type. You’ll see Fireball called out explicitly in multiple objectives, including challenges that track a set number destroyed and quests that require using a particular tool or weapon to take one down.

ARC Couriers, explained

“ARC Courier” refers to a searchable ARC object you can interact with during certain objectives. You’ll encounter it alongside other searchable ARC points of interest like probes and husks. When a task says “ARC Courier searched,” it wants you to find one in the world and perform the search interaction on it — the same way you would on probes or ARC husks.

These interaction spots use the game’s standard search prompt and behave like other world objects tied to quest progression.

How to complete “A Bad Feeling” (and similar objectives)

The quest line commonly titled “A Bad Feeling” tracks completion when you find and search any one of the following: an ARC Probe, an ARC Courier, or an ARC husk. Only one is required to finish the step. If you’re not seeing a Courier in your route, probes and husks also satisfy the same objective.

  • Go topside and move through points of interest that frequently contain ARC activity.
  • Watch for world items that highlight as quest interactions — the game uses a distinct yellow glow for these.
  • Approach and use the search interaction on a qualifying object (probe, courier, or husk) to register progress.
Note: Quest progression is shared. If a teammate searches the object while you’re in the same session, it counts for you as well. Items required for quest steps aren’t consumed on completion, and in many cases can be in your stash and still register.

Fireball-specific quest conditions you might see

Not every Fireball objective is a simple destroy count. Some quests constrain how you do it:

  • Destroy a Fireball with a Ferro.
  • Destroy a Fireball using a Fireball Burner.

These steps only complete when the specified gear is used for the final takedown. If a generic challenge just says “Fireballs destroyed,” any method of eliminating the Fireball typically applies.

Finding what you need, faster

You’ll spend the majority of your time topside where ARC machines and ARC points of interest appear. As you move between hotspots, keep your focus split between two things: identifying Fireballs among ARC patrols and scanning for yellow-glowing interaction objects that denote searchable ARC items. If your aim is courier progress but you aren’t spotting one, pivot to probes or husks — they count the same for quests that list all three.

Progress tracking and team credit

There are a few global quest rules worth keeping in mind while you hunt for these objectives:

  • Quest progression is shared across your squad. One player’s search action can complete the step for everyone.
  • Items needed for steps aren’t consumed when a quest completes.
  • Quest interaction areas and items use a glowing yellow highlight to distinguish them from ordinary loot.

Quick reference

Term What it is What completes the task Where it shows up Related quest notes
Fireball Ground-based ARC enemy unit Destroy the Fireball; some quests require a specific tool (e.g., Ferro) or weapon (e.g., Fireball Burner) Topside ARC patrols and encounters Appears in both generic destroy-count challenges and constrained “destroy with X” quests
ARC Courier Searchable ARC point of interest Perform the search interaction on the courier once Topside points of interest; highlighted with a yellow quest glow Interchangeable with ARC Probe or ARC husk for quests that list all three (only one required)

If you’re stuck on Fireball counts, route through ARC-heavy areas and be mindful of quests that restrict how you take one down. If a courier won’t surface, don’t waste a round chasing it — any listed probe or husk will move that objective forward just the same. Keep an eye out for the yellow glow, and let shared progression do some of the work if you’re running with a squad.
