The What Goes Around quest asks you to eliminate a Fireball using the Fireball Burner. The catch: the Burner has to do the killing, not your guns or incidental damage. Here’s the clean, repeatable path to complete it in a single run.

Objective: kill a Fireball using a Fireball Burner

Fireballs are ARC rollbots that roam and spew flames at close range. For quest credit, you need to down one using the Fireball Burner throwable. Using other explosives won’t count.

Get Fireball Burners (drops and crafting)

There are two reliable ways to stock up:

  • Loot drops: Every Fireball you destroy can drop Fireball Burners. Clear a few and you’ll usually walk away with multiple.
  • Crafting: You can craft a Fireball Burner using 1x ARC Alloy and 1x Crude Explosives for $640 (in-game currency).

Bring at least three Burners before you go for the quest kill. Two can be enough, but a third covers missed throws or partial damage.

Find Fireballs quickly (hotspot to farm both kills and Burners)

Fireballs can spawn across the map, but a consistent hotspot is the Research and Administration building on the southeastern section. Sweep this point of interest to find multiple Fireballs in one visit, which lets you both farm Burners and set up the quest kill without relocating.

Make the kill register (simple, repeatable setup)

Once you have a few Burners in your inventory, prioritize clean credit:

  • Isolate a Fireball. Clear nearby mobs so stray damage doesn’t steal the final hit.
  • Bait the roll. Let the Fireball close until it starts its flame attack; this keeps it inside the burn zone.
  • Throw two Burners at its path or feet. The initial impact plus lingering fire stacks damage quickly.
  • Watch its health and avoid gunfire once it’s burning. If you need a safety margin, throw a third Burner to ensure the damage-over-time finishes the target.
Tip: If the quest doesn’t tick after the Fireball dies, the last point of damage likely came from a weapon, environmental hazard, or a teammate’s hit. Run the setup again and let the Burner’s fire do the final work.

Why this works (and common pitfalls)

  • Fireballs reliably drop Burners, so farming them feeds the quest requirement.
  • Incendiary damage persists; stacking two to three Burners ensures the Burner effect secures the final hit without extra shots.
  • Missed credit usually comes from over-damaging the target with guns before the Burner tick lands. Ease off the trigger once the Fireball is ablaze.

Once you’ve stocked Burners at Research and Administration and let the fire finish the target, What Goes Around should complete on the next Fireball you down. If you’re farming materials anyway, loop the hotspot: each Fireball you clear can drop more Burners, ARC Alloy, and Powercells, making the quest a quick stop rather than a detour.
