The most confusing step in Arc Raiders’ What We Left Behind mission happens on Buried City, where you’re told to search two containers in a Raider Camp “beneath the Parking Garage”. The quest text is vague, the camp isn’t marked on the map, and many players waste time looting cars on the wrong floor.
The camp you need is a hidden basement space under the main Parking Garage, reached through a breachable elevator door and a zipline. The table below shows how it relates to the rest of What We Left Behind:
| Map | Objective text | Location type | What you must interact with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buried City | Search two containers in the Raider Camp beneath the Parking Garage | Hidden basement camp under Parking Garage | Two lootable containers in the sand-filled room |
| Dam Battlegrounds | Search for anything significant in the South Swamp Outpost | Main building interior | Yellow-marked documents on a table |
| Spaceport | Search for anything significant in Bilguun's Hideout next to Container Storage | Metal shack on the wall beside Container Storage | Yellow-marked notes inside the hideout |
Where the Parking Garage is in Buried City
In Buried City, the Parking Garage is a multi-storey car park close to the centre of the map. It sits between the Hospital and Space Travel and is near Marano Park. The area is busy: arcs often patrol outside and can spawn inside the garage itself, so you should expect resistance as you move in.
You can drive or run into the building through the ground-level entrances and spiral up or down the ramps. For the quest, you want to move toward the lowest accessible car-parking level, not the rooftop.
How to enter the Raider Camp beneath the Parking Garage
The Raider Camp is not on any of the visible parking levels or inside the cars. It’s an underground space that you access through a blocked elevator on the southwest side of the garage.
Use these steps once you’re in the Parking Garage:
| Step | Action | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Reach the lowest parking level | Concrete floor partly covered in sand, support columns, parked vehicles |
| 2 | Go to the southwest corner of the floor | A sealed or barricaded elevator door on the wall |
| 3 | Breach the elevator door | Interaction that takes a few seconds; the door then opens |
| 4 | Use the zipline into the shaft | A rope or line dropping down into a lower, sand-filled room |
Once you zip down the elevator shaft, you land in the actual Raider Camp: a basement space half-choked with sand, with makeshift Raider habitation and multiple loot containers scattered around.
Which containers count for the Buried City objective
The Buried City step of What We Left Behind requires you to “search two containers” in this underground camp. Only containers inside the basement camp count; looting cars or crates on the regular parking levels will not move the objective.
Inside the camp, you will find:
- Standard Raider loot containers (cases and bags)
- Potential high-value caches such as weapon or grenade cases
Any two valid containers in this camp are enough to progress the quest. In many runs, there are:
- A long Raider case near the centre of the camp, close to the main habitation area.
- A bag or similar soft container tucked just behind corrugated metal sheets nearby.
Loot interaction is what matters, not the specific type of container. Once you successfully search two of them, the Buried City portion of the mission completes, even if other players have already been through the area.
Why looting cars in the Parking Garage doesn’t work
A common mistake is to stay on the main parking levels and open every car trunk or crate in sight. Those cars can contain useful loot, but they are not part of the Raider Camp that the mission tracks.
The quest logic is tied to the specific underground camp cell, not to the Parking Garage building as a whole. If you haven’t:
- Breached the southwest elevator door, and
- Ridden the zipline down into the sand-filled basement,
The game does not consider you to be inside the correct Raider Camp, and no amount of car looting will advance the objective. If your progress bar stays stuck at 0/2 or 1/2 while you’re on the normal floors, you almost certainly have not reached the camp yet.
How to leave the underground Raider Camp
Once you’ve searched two containers and looted whatever else you need, there are a couple of ways out of the basement:
| Exit option | How to use it | When it helps |
|---|---|---|
| Elevator shaft zipline | Interact with the line back up the shaft to return to the Parking Garage | When you want to stay in the building or avoid outside threats |
| Eastern window drop | Climb or hop through the window opening on the camp’s outer wall and drop to the ground | When you want a fast exit to the street or a nearby extract route |
Dropping from the window puts you close to an access point for an extraction lift, so you can often turn this quest step into a quick evac if you’re already carrying valuable gear.

How the Raider Camp step fits into What We Left Behind
What We Left Behind spans three different maps. The Buried City camp is usually the most confusing part, because the objective text points to a familiar landmark (the Parking Garage) but the real target is a hidden Raider space below it.
For clarity, the overall mission flow is:
- On Buried City: breach into the underground Raider Camp beneath the Parking Garage and search two containers there.
- On Dam Battlegrounds: head to South Swamp Outpost, enter the main cylindrical structure, and interact with the yellow-marked documents on a table.
- On Spaceport: find Bilguun's Hideout on the wall next to Container Storage, climb the broken wall section, and collect the notes inside the rusted container attached to the wall.
Completing all three interactions satisfies Tian Wen’s request and grants weapon modification rewards, so the time spent tracking down the buried camp under the Parking Garage is worth the trouble.
