Arc Raiders' Worth Your Salt Quest Is Simple — But a Bug Makes It a Race

Worth Your Salt is one of the new quests added to Arc Raiders as part of the Shrouded Sky update. The objective itself is straightforward — find a battery prototype, charge it, and drop it off — but a persistent bug means only one player per match can actually complete the final delivery step. If someone beats you to it, you're locked out and have to try again next round.

Quick answer: Head to the northwest corner of Rocket Assembly in Spaceport, grab the Battery Prototype from the upper walkway, charge it at the Industrial Recharger in the center of the hangar, then deliver it to the open crate near the north exit. You must be the first player in the match to place the charged battery in the drop-off box, or the quest will not complete.

Where to find the Battery Prototype

The entire quest takes place inside the Rocket Assembly building in the northern part of Spaceport, near the border with Fuel Control and East Container Yard. You're looking for the northwest section of the warehouse — the area with red metal walkways and stairs.

Step 1: Climb the red stairs to reach the upper walkway. Follow the walkway around to the east corner. You'll spot a small white crate sitting next to a row of red lockers. Interact with the crate to pick up the Battery Prototype.

Charging the battery at the Industrial Recharger

Step 2: Drop down from the walkway and head toward the center of the hangar, near the exit. The Industrial Recharger is a large piece of red machinery with a small white contraption attached to it. Place the Battery Prototype into this contraption.

Step 3: Use the handle (or dial) on the side of the machine to charge the battery. Once the charging animation finishes, pick the now-charged battery back up.

Delivering the Charged Battery

Step 4: Carry the Charged Battery to the north corner of the hangar, right next to the building's exit. On the in-game map, this is roughly where the "Fuel Control" label ends. You'll find another small open crate on the ground. Place the battery inside to complete the quest.

You do not need to extract alive after delivering the battery. The quest registers as complete the moment you place the Charged Battery in the drop-off crate.

The one-player-per-match bug and how to work around it

The core frustration with Worth Your Salt is that the drop-off crate only accepts one battery per match. Each player gets their own individual Battery Prototype, and the pickup and charging steps work fine for everyone. But once any single player places their charged battery in the final crate, it locks out every other player in that session. You'll carry your battery to the box and simply have no interaction prompt.

This is widely believed to be a bug rather than intentional design, and it mirrors a similar issue that affected the A Prime Specimen quest from the earlier Headwinds update, where only one player per match could interact with the Arc Deforester objective. Embark Studios has not confirmed a fix timeline for Worth Your Salt as of late February 2026.

If you arrive at the drop-off and find it already occupied, there's no workaround within that match. You'll need to load into a fresh round and try again. Several practical strategies can improve your odds:

  • Queue into less popular map conditions. Players who attempted the quest during Cold Snap weather events reported far less competition, since most people default to normal conditions. Choosing a harsher weather modifier thins out the crowd at Rocket Assembly significantly.
  • Spawn and sprint directly to the objective. The quest location is fixed, so memorizing the route from your spawn point saves critical seconds. Every moment counts when four or more players are racing to the same crate.
  • Don't bother looting on the way. Treat the run as a pure speed attempt. Grab the battery, charge it, deliver it. You can always loot on a separate run.

Some players have reported needing three or four attempts before successfully being the first to deliver, while others got lucky on their second try. The randomness of spawn locations and how many other players are pursuing the same quest in your match makes each attempt a bit of a coin flip.

Worth Your Salt quest steps at a glance

Step Action Location
1 Pick up the Battery Prototype from the white crate Upper walkway, east corner (near red lockers)
2 Place the battery in the Industrial Recharger Center of the hangar, near the exit
3 Use the handle/dial to charge the battery Same machine
4 Deliver the Charged Battery to the drop-off crate North corner of the hangar, near the exit

Worth Your Salt is mechanically one of the simplest quests in Arc Raiders — the entire sequence can be done in under two minutes if you know where everything is. The real challenge is purely a race condition created by the bug. Until Embark patches the drop-off crate to accept multiple players' batteries per match, patience and speed are your only tools. If you keep getting beaten to the punch, it may be worth shelving the quest temporarily and checking back after a future update addresses the issue.
