Arknights: Endfield Lupo Operators — The Wolf Race and Who Belongs to It

The Lupo race carries over from the original Arknights into Arknights: Endfield, representing wolf-like Ancients with pricked ears, bushy tails, and a fiercely hierarchical family culture. If you've been hit with a mission requirement asking you to field "at least 1 operator who is a Lupo," there's exactly one playable character who fits the bill right now.

Quick answer: Wulfgard is the only Lupo operator currently playable in Arknights: Endfield. Add him to your team to satisfy any Lupo-related mission condition.

Wulfgard — The Lone Lupo in Your Roster

Wulfgard is a five-star Caster who wields a Handcannon and specializes in Heat damage. His full name is Catello Wulfgard Luppino, and he's a Landbreaker mercenary who recently joined Endfield Industries' Crisis Team. He's one of the three free five-star operators you receive simply by progressing through the first chapter of the main story, so every player has access to him without spending any gacha currency.

In combat, Wulfgard functions as a ranged damage dealer built around applying heat infliction and combustion to multiple enemies simultaneously. His kit lets him consume a target's combustion or electrification status to fire an additional shot, dealing heavy heat damage. His battle tags are heat infliction and combust, and his primary attribute is Strength with Agility as his secondary. He pairs well with electric operators like Perlica or Arclight, since consuming electrification triggers his bonus damage mechanic.

What Makes the Lupo Race Distinct

Lupos are one of three races that branched off from the Perros due to cultural and biological differences — the other two being the Vulpos (fox-like) and the Reprobas. Physically, Lupos look nearly identical to Perros, but they're the easiest to distinguish thanks to their generally coarser, harder hair and their deeply ingrained cultural markers.

The name "Lupo" comes from the Italian word for wolf, which itself traces back to the Latin lupus. That Italian connection runs deeper than etymology. Lupo society revolves around a rigid, often ruthless family structure. Unlike the Perros, who treat family and friends with warmth, Lupo families view members as disposable subordinates. Rivalry between the Lupo families is intense, and family identity is expressed through dyed tails, distinctive earpieces, and family-specific symbols. Anyone banished from their family earns the label "lone wolf" — a genuine slur in Lupo culture, not the flattering term it might sound like.

Wulfgard's characterization reflects this background. He's described as loyal to "the Pack" and difficult to earn trust from, but once you do, he becomes a steadfast ally. His surname, Luppino, further reinforces the Italian-wolf cultural coding that defines the Lupo race across the Arknights universe.

Lupo Connections to the Original Arknights

Arknights: Endfield is set hundreds of years after the events of the original Arknights, on the planet Talos-II rather than Terra. Most of the Ancients races carry over between the two games, and the Lupo race was well-represented in the original roster with popular operators like Texas, Lappland, and Provence. In Endfield, Wulfgard is the sole playable Lupo so far, though the race clearly still exists in the broader world. Community discussions have noted that Wulfgard shares the Lupo designation with many beloved original Arknights characters, and the cultural lore around family hierarchy and "lone wolves" remains consistent across both titles.

Endfield treats its connections to the original game through a concept called "Reconveners" — clones or descendants of original Rhodes Island operators. Wulfgard is not identified as a Reconvener, which suggests he's simply a Lupo living in the Endfield era rather than a direct callback to a specific original operator.

How to Complete "At Least 1 Operator Who Is a Lupo" Missions

Step 1: Open your operator roster and add Wulfgard to your active team of four. Since he's given to you for free during Chapter 1, you should already have him unlocked.

Step 2: Enter the mission or event stage that requires a Lupo operator. The game checks your deployed team composition against the race requirement before the stage begins or upon completion.

Step 3: Complete the stage with Wulfgard in the party. The mission condition will register as fulfilled once the stage is cleared. You'll see the objective check off in the mission tracker or event progress screen.

Note: Wulfgard doesn't need to be the operator you're actively controlling. He just needs to be one of the four members in your deployed team when you clear the stage.

Will More Lupo Operators Be Added?

No additional Lupo operators have been officially confirmed for future updates. The current version 1.0 roster includes 23 operators spanning races like Sarkaz, Ursus, Liberi, Kuranta, Vulpo, Perro, and others, but Wulfgard remains the only Lupo. Given how prominent the race was in the original Arknights — and how Endfield's roster is expected to grow with new banners — it's reasonable to expect more Lupo characters eventually, though no official announcement or timeline exists.

For now, if any mission, event, or photo challenge asks you to bring a Lupo, Wulfgard is your only option. Fortunately, he's free, he's a solid Heat caster, and he slots comfortably into teams that need ranged elemental damage or combustion setup.
