Expect a brisk story that most players clear in about 5–6 hours on Normal. Faster runs that skip collectibles and stick to the critical path can land closer to 4–5 hours. Pushing the difficulty up, retrying tough encounters, or hunting every collectible can stretch the playtime toward 7–10 hours.

All Battlefield 6 campaign missions (in order)

# Mission
1Always Faithful
2The Rock
3Operation Gladius
4Night Raid
5No Sleep
6Moving Mountains
7Nile Guard
8Operation Ember Strike
9Always Forward

Mission length, at a glance

The nine missions aren’t all the same size. Nile Guard is the shortest chapter and can be wrapped in roughly twenty minutes. Operation Ember Strike is one of the longest and can approach an hour, especially on higher difficulties. Several other missions fall in the 30–45 minute range for an average player.

Collectibles and side objectives (for completionists)

  • There are 30 collectible Dog Tags across the campaign, typically 2–4 per mission.
  • There’s also a hidden T‑Rex toy to find during the story.
  • Collecting Dog Tags contributes to a set of campaign rewards, with ten unlocks tied to finding them all.
  • Battlefield 6 includes 43 achievements/trophies at launch on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

Beyond collectibles, the campaign includes challenge-style assignments—such as completing a mission without firing a gun—that unlock after finishing the story. These can add replay value without forcing a full second playthrough.

Difficulty, structure, and what actually adds time

  • Difficulty mainly affects survivability and pacing; there aren’t unique rewards locked to harder settings.
  • The campaign is linear, so exploration is limited to side pockets where collectibles are tucked away.
  • The biggest time swings come from collectible hunting, optional challenges, and repeated attempts on tougher encounters.

What about multiplayer?

Multiplayer has no endpoint and can be played indefinitely. Progression systems for weapons and gear will take dozens of hours to exhaust, and seasonal updates will keep the clock running well beyond the campaign’s short runtime.

If you’re here to see the story, plan for an evening. If you want every tag, every challenge, and a tougher fight, budget a weekend.
