Battlefield 6 brings a linear, globe-trotting single-player campaign back to the series. You play as Dagger 13 on a tightly scripted hunt to stop the private military group Pax Armata, moving from beachhead assaults to covert infiltrations and urban sieges. Below is the complete mission order, how the collectibles break down, and what to expect in terms of playtime and rewards.

Battlefield 6 campaign length (hours to beat)

Expect the campaign to take roughly 4–10 hours. The spread comes down to difficulty, how often you die, and whether you’re stopping to explore, grab collectibles, or chase post-game assignments. Playing on regular or recruit and skipping collectibles puts you at the lower end; higher difficulties and thorough runs push you toward the upper end.

Battlefield 6 campaign mission list (order and dog tags)

There are nine story missions. Each mission contains a set number of collectible dog tags; the count is a good proxy for mission size. The shortest level, Nile Guard, carries just two dog tags, while the longest missions go up to four.

Mission (play order) Dog tags in mission Notes
1. Always Faithful 3 Story opener; balanced combat and traversal
2. The Rock 3 Assault-focused, medium length
3. Operation Gladius 3 Mixed-approach objectives
4. Night Raid 4 Stealth-forward night infiltration
5. No Sleep 3 Close-quarters emphasis
6. Moving Mountains 4 Large, multi-phase engagement
7. Nile Guard 2 Shortest mission in the campaign
8. Operation Ember Strike 4 Set-piece heavy finale lead-in
9. Always Forward 4 Finale; sustained firefights

Total dog tags across the campaign: 30.

Structure and difficulty

The campaign is strictly linear. There are no side quests and very few alternate paths—objectives push you from one combat space to the next with a clear critical route. Difficulty choice primarily affects enemy durability and aggression, not mission layout.

  • There are no completion rewards tied to finishing the entire campaign on higher difficulties.
  • There is an achievement that requires completing any one mission on the highest difficulty. Pick an earlier mission if you want an easier path to it.

Collectibles and rewards

Beyond the 30 dog tags (three or four per mission in most levels, two in Nile Guard), there’s a hidden T-Rex dinosaur toy to find within the campaign. Completing certain missions also grants a small number of cosmetic skin rewards.

At launch, there are 43 achievements/trophies. Some unlock through normal campaign progression, while others require multiplayer milestones. After finishing the story, a slate of expert campaign assignments appears—these are optional challenge-style objectives, such as finishing a mission without firing a weapon.

What to expect moment to moment

Mission pacing varies. You’ll move between daytime assaults, stealthy night infiltrations, and multi-stage encounters that combine infantry pushes with vehicle support. Locations shift across global hotspots, including coastal landings and dense city fights, with set-piece spikes at the start, middle, and end of the campaign.

If you’re here for the story, the nine-mission run is a focused sprint. If you want 100 percent completion, plan an extra lap to sweep dog tags, pick up the toy, and tick off post-game assignments. Either way, the mission order above is your roadmap—push through it once, then replay targeted levels for cleanup and difficulty challenges.
