Combat in Bizarre Lineage revolves around the specific Stand and Sub Ability you equip. These core mechanics dictate your overall damage output, mobility, and crowd control capabilities, directly impacting your efficiency in player-versus-player duels and mob farming.
Quick answer: White Snake is currently the best overall Stand due to its top-tier damage and crowd control across both PvE and PvP, while Vampire is the optimal Sub Ability for its stuns and lifesteal sustain. Beginners should aim for Weather Report or Killer Queen for smooth early-game area-of-effect clearing.

Stand tier list
Stands are ranked from S+ to D tier based on their combat effectiveness, area-of-effect (AoE) presence, combo potential, and mobility.
| Tier | Stand | Combat strengths | Combat weaknesses |
|---|---|---|---|
| S+ | White Snake | Highest damage potential, strong crowd control, high DoT, excellent in both modes. Disables enemy Stands. | Requires precise execution to maximize combo pressure. |
| S | Made In Heaven | Unmatched gap closing, extreme mobility, highly dominant in PvP duels. | Weak AoE slows down PvE mob farming. |
| S | C-Moon | Excellent damage, strong crowd control, top-tier PvE mobility and mob grouping. | Slightly less explosive burst damage than White Snake. |
| S | Weather Report | Massive AoE, smooth combos, excellent PvE clearing. Safe beginner pick. | Slightly less oppressive in 1v1 PvP than close-range specialists. |
| A | The World | Great single-target DPS, robust combo potential, features a 6-second Time Stop. | Small AoE limits large-scale mob farming speed. |
| A | King Crimson | Elite burst damage, Time Erase grants intangibility and unpunishable setups. | Lacks AoE tools, making it weak for PvE grinding. |
| A | The World High Voltage | High DPS, strong engage and disengage tools, consistent ranged pressure. | Primarily restricted to single-target combat. |
| A | Stone Free | Strong single-target DPS, unique grab setups, reliable self-healing. | Limited AoE presence and requires strict combo practice. |
| B | Star Platinum | High close-range burst, strong dueling potential, features a 5-second Time Stop. | Poor mob clearing due to a lack of wide attacks. |
| B | Killer Queen | Good ranged poke, autonomous pressure with Sheer Heart Attack, beginner-friendly. | Low late-game single-target burst damage. |
| B | Magician’s Red | Decent flame-based AoE, solid early-game progression and crowd control. | Outscaled by late-game Stands with better sustained damage. |
| C | Golden Experience | Strong healing and sustain, safe defensive utility for beginners. | Low overall damage ceiling. |
| C | Crazy Diamond | Solid heal mode, decent ranged poke tools. | Weak combo flow and poor AoE capabilities. |
| C | Anubis | High M1 melee damage, good close-range mobility. | No AoE or ranged tools, making PvE farming difficult. |
| D | Purple Haze | Poison AoE, good disengage utility. | Pushback mechanics constantly ruin combo flow. |
| D | The Hand | Simple close-range kit, decent mobility via space erasure. | Highly limited combos and zero AoE damage. |
| D | Red Hot Chili Pepper | Minor early-game AoE utility and repositioning capability. | Lowest overall damage output in the game. |

Sub Ability tier list
Sub Abilities add supplementary combat mechanics, passive buffs, and utility to your primary Stand.
| Tier | Sub Ability | Mechanics and strengths | Drawbacks |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | Vampire | Multiple stuns, freeze tools, and powerful lifesteal sustain (Leeching Terror). Best overall synergy with aggressive builds. | None |
| A | Cyborg | Machine Gun and Missile Volley provide safe ranged poke. Features bonus anti-Vampire damage. | Completely lacks health sustain. |
| B | The Ripple | Stun-based combo starters with heavy bonus damage against Vampires. | Offers no healing or defensive utility for prolonged fights. |
| D | Human | Passive health regeneration for minor PvE sustain. | Regeneration is too slow to impact PvP or late-game boss fights. |
Managing and rerolling Stands
You unlock your Stand by using a Stand Arrow on yourself. You can hold a maximum of two Stands at a time unless you unlock additional storage slots by Prestiging or purchasing them with Robux. Using a Stand Arrow while your storage is full will overwrite your currently equipped Stand.
Step 1: Open the Stand Settings menu and navigate to Stand Storage.
Step 2: Press Store Stand to save your currently equipped Stand to an open slot.
Step 3: Open your inventory, select a Stand Arrow, and press Use to roll a new random Stand.

Upgrading Stand stats
Every Stand features base attributes graded from D to S Tier: Attack, Speed, and Special. Upgrading these stats improves your Stand's overall combat scaling without changing the Stand itself.
Step 1: Obtain a Stand Stat Essence by completing quests or purchasing one from the Raid Store.
Step 2: Open your inventory, select the Stand Stat Essence, and press Use.
Step 3: Confirm the prompt to permanently randomize the Attack, Speed, and Special grades of your currently equipped Stand.
Alongside raw stats, you can equip up to four unique Stand Passive abilities. These are unlocked by increasing your Stand Conjuration, a hidden progression metric that rises automatically as you defeat enemies, complete quests, and win ranked PvP matches.
