Bod’s perk, why it’s sought after

Bod is a Daedalus Legendary shotgun with the All‑Arounder effect: it counts as a Shotgun, Assault Rifle, Sniper Rifle, Pistol, and SMG at the same time. That single flag makes nearly any “weapon‑type” bonus apply to it, stacks multiple categories of buffs, and lets you clear weapon‑specific challenges far faster (kills with Bod advance “SMG,” “Sniper,” and other category tasks).

Bod can roll useful licensed parts and alternate fire modes. Look for secondary modes that shift it to AR or SMG behavior, and licensed pieces such as Hyperion‑licensed ricochet shields, Torgue‑licensed sticky magazines, and Ripper‑licensed magazines. These combinations swing handling and damage profile in ways that fit very different builds.

Where Bod drops (dedicated source) and what you need first

Bod has a dedicated drop from Axemaul in Dominion. The fight is inside the “The Toil of Spoiling Vis” Abandoned Auger Mine in the Carcadia District. Access to Abandoned Auger Mines is gated behind the main mission Shadow of the Mountain, so finish that first.

Once you can enter Dominion, head to the Carcadia District and locate the Toil of Spoiling Vis mine entrance. Progress the mine to Axemaul’s arena, defeat the boss, and check the drop. As with most Legendaries, Bod is not guaranteed; expect RNG and multiple clears.

Set up a fast farm loop (Encore machine)

Right outside Axemaul’s arena you’ll find Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine. Use it to reset the encounter on the spot and chain runs without leaving the mine. Kill Axemaul, check the floor, hit the Encore, repeat.

Tip: Farm at the level you plan to play endgame with to avoid re‑farming the same weapon later.

Rolls and parts worth chasing

  • Alternate fire modes: AR or SMG firing profiles can change ammo usage and effective range while keeping Bod’s shotgun base and category flags.
  • Licensed parts: Hyperion‑licensed ricochet shields, Torgue‑licensed sticky magazines, and Ripper‑licensed magazines are all possible and meaningfully change playstyle.
  • Element: Bod can drop in multiple elements; align to your build and target enemy defenses.
Note: Bod’s licensed part pool is wide, but not every manufacturer license shows up on it. Prioritize the parts that support your damage scaling or survivability plan rather than chasing a specific brand logo.

Wildcard missions (occasional alternative)

After finishing the campaign, you can unlock Wildcard Missions through a late‑game NPC. Once unlocked, they’re accessible from the map screen via the Wildcard icon in the bottom‑left and can be launched at your current Ultimate Vault Hunter level. Weekly Wildcard rewards rotate; Bod is not a standing reward and may not be featured in a given week. When it is, Wildcards provide a predictable route to specific drops.

Quick reference

Item Type Legendary effect Dedicated source Location Requirement Manufacturer
Bod Shotgun All‑Arounder (counts as Shotgun, AR, Sniper, Pistol, SMG) Axemaul Dominion, Carcadia District, “The Toil of Spoiling Vis” Abandoned Auger Mine Complete Shadow of the Mountain to access Abandoned Auger Mines Daedalus

Bottom line: Bod is a late‑game workhorse because it stacks multiple weapon‑type bonuses on a single frame. Farm Axemaul in Toil of Spoiling Vis, use Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine to reset quickly, and hold out for a roll that matches your element and preferred licensed parts.
